I can definitely see people getting the Japanese release just because the other releases are a month or two late. :p hell, I'm even considering it upon hearing:

"Zone of the Enders HD includes HD versions of the original title and its sequel updated with 720p HD visuals and running at a smooth 60 frames per second. Other aspects of the game including the visual effects, music, sound and UI elements have all been improved, too."

Does it have English subtitles? Lmao.

More than likely... but also could potentially have only Chinese/Mandarin, Korean, and the obvious Japanese subtitles.

I'll just wait for the US release with the collectors edition.

For this option you need the Asian version of the game.
Like this. *check the language option at the bottom of the cover.
Just select the English language in PS3 system settings, and the game starts with the Japanese voices and English subtitles.
As an additional bonus, this version supports the saved data from U.S. or European versions.
So you can continue to play from any location where you stopped 
Unfortunately this version of the FFXIII has long been sold out.
But the second part is still available

Couple of Zone of Enders gameplay shots in a new interview with Kojima.

I don't know if it's just me, but it looks like it's just a bump in resolution and textures are slightly less muddy. Still, it looks like Zone of Enders and I know it will be fun.
