Did you even notice Makoto in that video ?

Also, if you need a review to watch or play anything, you have no brain of your own.

Make your own opinions, don't rely on others.

I agree with you completely, except when you have to spend money for DVDs or Blu-Rays. If you only have enough for one series, reading reviews might save you from watching a bad show and wasting your hard earned money.

And that is what fansubs and/or sites like CR are for. You can watch  show in advance, (mostly) free of charge, base your opinion on that, and buy BD/DVD if you like it.

Hmmm...I feel like I liked Nisemonogatari more.

You guys talk about how it focused on the sisters more, but more importantly, I think it focused on Araragi more.

The first season Araragi was just your generic harem lead, getting carried along by everyone else's problems.  This time you got to see his own personality develop more.  This was because Shinobou actually started talking (and she's basically a part of him now) and because the people afflicted by the supernatural were actual family (so it hit much closer to home than any other case in Bake).  Furthermore, this season didn't have Oshino carrying Araragi doing all the work (thus raising the question why Araragi needed to be around in the first place).

In other words, I felt like this season wasn't about the sisters, but about Araragi, and I appreciate the main character getting fleshed out.  It makes me look forward to more of his adventures.

Not because of Shinobu. It's because Oshino was gone, he had to start making decisions and dealing with stuff on his own, and for that reason Oshino thought Shinobu everything he knew. He knew that at some point he will once again try to help someone. He had to deal with everything personally so he had a lot more screen time and development.

It was actually quite natural but still it was his sister spotlight as it based primarily on dealing with his sisters problems without telling what he is and keeping everything a secret from them.

How Karen developed was brilliant, but still I think the most surprising events were around Tsukihi, even though it was very short, her arc was incredibly well done. And how it all got finished was also superb, even though it didn't show much, what was important is the bond between siblings.

The most important part of that bond was when Araragi asked if Karen-chan would die for him, and she said yes, and if she would die for Tsukihi, she said yes, both without any hesitation, no pause at all, no thought process needed. THAT was incredible.

Uh ... where do I start, this will take a while to design and set up for the first post (it's in progress).

The Monogatari series is ... really, really, REALLY big.

First season:
- Bakemonogatari
- Kizumonogatari
- Nisemonogatari
- Nekomonogatari (Black)

Second season:
- Nekomonogatari (White)
- Kabukimonogatari
- Hanamonogatari
- Otorimonogatari
- Onimonogatari
- Koimonogatari

Final season:
- Tsukimonogatari
- Owarimonogatari
- Zoku Owarimonogatari

Pretty huge, huh? Katanagatari is excluded from this list because the story/characters/plot has nothing to do with what I've listed from above. I've also directed links to the proper threads for Bakemonogatari and Kizumonogatari. The next anime in line to be produced is Nekomonogatari (Black) followed by Nekomonogatari (White), which should be in production right now. Kizumonogatari's productions was postponed this year, apparently, and will not release this year (2012). It will most likely release in 2013 ... I think I've covered basically everything. The creator for all the Monogatari series is still Nishio Ishin and SHAFT will produce all of the Monogatari series. Also, do note that we're only in the First Season for the Monogatari series, so we haven't yet touched the Second Season for it.

Good news, yes? Gonna go back and figure out how to make the first post look nice.

Not at all? We treat each release individually. Even though they are all related it is best to treat them individually as it will be very chaotic when idiot A is talking about Zgatari and idiot B about Ygatari.

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

Yea, this is a nightmare to even think about plus what you noted. I'm reversing the first post back.

Oi, Oi you serious? There are going to be that many releases? Just when is it going to finish then? Looks another 10-13 years to me. Damn, I won't even be watching anime at that anymore, probably >__>

On another point, like newy said, it is best to consider each as a separate release, though while collecting I would still put them under Season 1, 2, 3, folders and the like.

Looks like aniplex finally got the license for bakemonogatari http://www.siliconera.com/2012/04/07/aniplex-to-release-bakemonogatari-anime-in-north-america/

I just hope they will release a blu ray box for this, this is one series I am willing to splurge on.

I hope so. I'm still angry over Code Geass not getting a blu ray release in the us. Wonder if it'll include dubs or if i'll just have hard subs like katanagatari did.

As much as I don't kind  subs it does take my attention some away from the beautiful visuals. I plan to buy any of the series with a good bluray release if it's English or otherwise but man is my learning Japanese a slow process.

Nisemonogatari got listed on the 'worst anime of the season' along with Black Rock Shooter (that's no. 1 though) on sankaku.

Both happen to be my fav this season, and BRS was my no. one fav, which supposedly is the worst. Ranking system are either unreliable, or people just want easy to understand animu. Pfft. I am platinum mad. >__<

Madness. I thoroughly enjoyed both; both have their quirkiness, but I think that's what made them shine imo. Anyway, tastes are all subjective so no point in going crazy over it.

Ok, I was a bit too fast to report this. Check this out, both BRS and Nisemonogatari are on both the Top List and Worst List

Not really, there is a deep reason to that ranking, explained in this spoiler here:
