Well initially, he didn't think the monogatari series would sell well.
So basically he wrote the second novel as a guilty pleasure for himself, hence the amount of fanservice.

You're like the spokesperson of Nisemonogatari. But yeah, the toothbrush scene is the highlight of the show.

Although all of the Monogatari stuff is epic.

I hates nise. It just seemed like a bunch of fan-service to me.
Though my member suffered at my hands at the toothbrush scene.
