Yeah, it's on Netflix. Dubbed, of course. And as terrible as you'd imagine it'd be.

HotD was picked up I think.

What fansub group did HOTD uncensored?

I'm basing the censor on two scenes, in the first episode where he bashes a zombies head in (its blacked out) and on...episode 7? I think, where a little zombie kid has a shotgun to his face and gets his brains blown out. (Also blacked out)

I have Coalgirls HOTD and those scenes are blacked out, is it really so or is that intentional?

Thanks a bunch!

For your information: A Bluray fansub batch torrent is indeed available, on Nyaa-torrents. It is based on CMS subs, which should mean they are more or less identical to the subs currently on BakaBT, but retimed for Bluray.

Nyaa torrent ID: tid=345399

This fansubbed version is 720p. There are also two raw versions, both 1080p.

Thanks for the tip.

I'm kind of surprised to see a blu-ray copy smaller than it's HDTV equivalent, though.

It depends on bitrates used actually, if a BD is smaller than HDTV I suspect low bitrates which in turn give worse quality.

I don't want bad BD quality, i'll wait for something official and not something an amateur would do.

I haven't gotten around to watching the second season, so they're good enough temporary copies for me.

Doubt they're worse than the HDTV copies in any case. And tbh I'm not a huge fan of Tenshi-style placebo bitrates. Something in-between these and what he releases at would be nice though.

Tenshi isn't the only encoder there, the problem is with his bitrates though, I use default 4k bitrates and compress with H.264 but I have no idea what he does.

I admire his work ethic, but not his super low CRF values. No 20gb 720p series for me. =/

According to an update on the Coalgirls Website think they are picking this up again.

Fate/Zero is encoded. I cannot start work on it until UTW releases their version.

Right now, I’m going to do a few one-shot things that I’ve wanted to do but didn’t have the time for.

Nise, I’m holding off until I get those things done.

That's good to hear, now I can see all my favorite scenes (gigiddt) in BD HD. XD

Especially since, as later posts in this thread detail, creating a Nisemonogatari BD version is far more difficult than simply remuxing subs from TV rips. As with many SHAFT anime, the BDs have changed signs and added scenes, meaning that additional retiming and translations are required.

Got any old fansubs on HDD/DVD/CD? Please take a look at this thread.

Yes those extra scenes would have caused problems. =_=

Edit: Checked AniDB. Apparently RUELL-Subs have done the BD's. :P

Do they do quality work? I don't think I've ever watched anything subbed by them.

I'm so glad the BDs are finally done. I have been holding off on this show because of the evil censor and it has been killing me.
