I don't think they needed over half of the episode to be set in the bathroom though, it lowers the tone of the whole series. The only other shower\bath sceen i can remember was Senjougahara at the start and that only lasted what 10 seconds.

It's the interaction between the two that makes it awesome, not that it was a bath scene. That is my opinion of course.

I agree, but paul does have a point. This whole series is, so far, much more fanservicey than Bakemonogatari was - that's not necessarily a bad thing, of course, but it does give the show a different feeling. I'm wondering what the blu-ray will look like though - it's hard to tell whether some of the stuff in that bath scene is censoring that'll get removed, or is a design choice that is meant to look like that.

Man, two episodes in and I'm hooked. Can't wait for the rest and for the rest of the monogatari series to be animated  :)

Missed it last week so I just watched 3 and 4. Freaking awesome. No other anime ever (besides its predecessor of course) can own so much with 95% talking.

Needs way way more Shinobu btw.. this weeks was a good start. Ive always wanted to know more about her story, and how araragi became a vampire. I suppose its detailed in one of the novels, bakemonogatari only touched on it lightly so.

Malakai0, the story of how he became a vampire is detailed in Kizumonogatari, which was the first book. There's a full English translation now on Baka-tsuki, and there's also film of it, which IIRC released in Japanese cinemas in November or so, and should come out on blu-ray at some point this year (I'm really looking forward to it). It's a reasonably good book, worth a read (though the film might well be better).

Thanks for info, I actually just finished reading about it on ANN before I hit refresh on this page.

Definitely looking forward to a fansub of the movie. The little flashes of araragi's vampire summer from ep1 of bakemonogatari were awesome.

Never heard of baka-tsuki before, thanks much, now I'm going to spend the next weeks reading a ton of stuff from there. Bah I want a new kindle3, I hate reading on the pc. Reading books & manga on it was so awesome...

I know, but when I posted that, I had only seen two. I just caught up to ep4, and I must say I'm super excited that the director wants to animate the rest of the monogatari series because it has to be one of the best anime I've seen that can keep my attention even tho its 95% talking.

The cerebral quick pro quo is the best part of this and Bakemonogatari. If not for that, it would just be another anime. With it, they are pure EPIC!

Its a lot better actually hearing the dialogue in japanese than just reading it (currently reading kizumono). So much of what makes this series great is the language. English is so bland :)
