Memory probably is, you'll hate it a few years later when your RAM starts making you get bsods.

I got a dual core from years ago and a 6850 and I have no problems running new games from full so I think you should be good for most stuff on high. Haven't been updated on the latests trends too much though I'd suggest waiting for more info on that.

The PoweColor 6850 is about ~10 dbA quieter than 460 GTX as seen here.

So go for the Corsair RAM instead?

JoonasTo:
That seems acceptable.

I'd say yes, at least if it fails, you can get new one for free. RAM is rather cheap though, so you could just buy new one if it fails too. If you're going to overclock then you have to choose the corsair but if not you can just go with the cheaper and if it starts BSODing in the future because of RAM failure just buy new, preferences really.

Actually I lied before, I have a 6950 not 6850 so not sure if you'd be able to run things like you want in the future but the next step up is a lot more money so probably not worth it.

Comparable performance... You have any extra 13% performance for the extra $50 you paid. :P

JoonasTo:
50% increase plus the 15% more from flashing to 6970 ;)

Switch-Renn:
Your selected motherboard is only PCI-E 2.0 whereas your GPU is PCI-E 2.1. The GPU won't work.
