Not interested. :P  IRC takes away all my time. Wasting any more time in current situation = Suicide.

Don't post a reply here then? :P

Excited to get my first letter. Not had a pen pal in years. Expect drawings in your reply. :D

@fohfoh you're from Singapore?? Yep, laksa is very good, bak kut teh too. All these foods you mentioned are available just a stone throw away from my house. :P

@Scudworth Haha, I understand. I think my posts gets acknowledged probably 5% of the time then. LOL It's just that I'm bored and looking for someone to ... email perhaps? And it's kinda fun you know. LOL and I think it's extra embarrassing to request for a pen pal and every one ignores you. So..

Thanks everyone that replied! Much loves alright! :D

Looks like you're posting on JPS?
A little bit, but It doesn't look as active as here. Even if I have nothing useful to contribute I at least like it be to be in a busy place. Then there's always the possibility of swinging the whole thread off topic  :P

I was there in the summer of 2007 for training and visitation. I stayed in Clementi, a stones throw from NUS. Mr Prata was less than a block away for me, the market was about 3-4 blocks away. I miss the murtabak and their curry. I once got lost going to a friends house from a station near NUS. I wandered the campus looking for landmarks for about 1:45. Found the place. Bad day to wear jeans. Found out I got off at the right stop, and literally walked in the  opposite direction of his home.

lol. JPS is ok for the activity. For sure not as lively as here. I don't frequent their forums as much as I used to though.

But derailing shit here and trolling is much more fun, :) I agree. :P

Lol, looks like you have a lot of ppl already. Pen-pals... oh... memories. Old memories. We used to have "pen-pals" back in elementary school for the English class. We started by 3rd grade (8 years old). The "pen-pals" where nothing more than classmates :P. It was an excuse for us to write letters in English, our firsts attempts to write something in a 2nd language. The teacher assigned you a person to write a letter to, with the others not knowing who was writing to them. You had to write in the letter about you, what you liked doing, etc. And after writing several letters, the person receiving them had to guess who was the one writing. It was all random, not A <-> B, for example, if A wrote to B, B could wrote to C and so on. It was kinda fun I think, I don't remember much from back then. I never heard the word "pen-pal" ever again till today 8)

I like the idea, writing "real" letters, by "common" mail. Lol, I imagine the love letter type... with cutesy handwriting, adorned with flowers and perfume, inside a light pink envelope sealed with those old seals letters used to be closed with. Regular letters have a "feel", more "love"... meh, I think I saw too many love stories and I'm imaging to much xD. But indeed a handwriting has a closer feeling. Ofc, it's more unconvenient... takes its time to arrive, more if you're sitting in, literally, the other end of the world. If you like handwriting you can just scan a piece of paper, lol.

But I'd like to write letters. I don't have many friends here, the ppl that I care the most (and cared for me) are usually from the series of tubes and across the pond, msn and email being the only forms of contact. Ppl here tend to be crappy, I almost never had a strong relation with anyone. Maybe I don't help by being weird myself (when you like crossdressing and Jap things you don't give the best of impressions). I'd love to make more friends, hehe. I don't have many interesting things to write about though, I usually end up writing non-sense like this and bore everyone xD

Well, if someone wants to write with me, mail, email or smoke signals (?)... here I am. Now that I think about it, it would be great to write in Japanese, a proper Jap letter (with Jap envelope, lol), but my level still leaves much to be desired (I can barely write anything). Btw, I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I'm kinda girly and I love Jap things -language, music, culture, movies, 茶道 (sadou), and about anything~ :)

What does "[sic]" mean? I don't think anyone got sick in the article so why is it in there? Should I start writing and post "[dump]" when I leave to go take a shit then return?

I remember exchanging letters with a friend of mine who moved away, kinda like a pen-pal but we actually knew each other.

Anyway, one day I just started responding in "old English" then he did the same, then we wrote each other like a couple of dorks for the next year or two until he moved back. To this day its still a bit of a running joke between us, only we try to speak old English rather then write.

Not really relevant to this thread, but the idea of exchanging letters brought this to my mind.

I used to exchange letters with my friends in high school. I saw them nearly every day but we just liked sending each other stuff. One of them was a bugger for filling letters with confetti and glitter.

I used to have penpals from Ireland, Portugal and Germany ages ago. Soooo long ago, I had japanese one too at one point. *scratches head* Yeah, I think I did. But it was kinda out of fashion by then anyways. Because going from mail to email or MSN totally alienates people.  :'(

Because we can!

It is not everyday to find people who are within 1 hour travel time via the internet.
I did not have a pen-pal ever since I started writing. There are some stuff to worry like postage etc.
There is sense in nonsense...Just remove the non...

having pen pals is one of the reasons that i am one of the few American guys i know who actually like stationary. I keep up pretty regularly with friends in Taiwan and Japan. Always up for more!

My friend has like 6 or 7, but that's cause she's Morman and thus has a group of people to draw from. Some church in S.Korea or something.

I actually did have one, oddly enough that I got a wrong letter from, and I mailed it back. Turned out to be a pretty cool person, non-rape too which is a little added bonus. But then they moved and we lost contact, but random encounters are very fun.

I'm gunna leave you anyway.
