What game are you looking foward to the most this winter?
« on: September 18, 2011, 10:10:55 PM »
I'm having a hard time figuring out what releases to prioritize this year. The amount of awesomeness being released between now and 2012 is giving me a headache.
That said, its Batman: Arkham City for me. Followed very closely by Skyrim and Uncharted 3. How about you guys?

From that list, Battlefield 3.

However I am also looking forward to Soase: Rebellion stand alone expansion that either comes very late this year or very early next year.
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

No RAGE? Other than BF3, I'm very much looking forward to playing an id game again. :)

Especially on my new PC.

(Last id game I played was Enemy Territory... Quake Wars and Wolfenstein versions)

Rage is my choice, which you did not include in the choices.  On that list probably Zelda or Elder Scrolls.  I am cheep when it comes to games and will wait for the 30 dollar price tags.  I don't really play online games so waiting has no adverse effect.

RAGE has Co-Op and a motorstorm/twisted metal like multiplayer.

Batman: Arkham City. Oh, the hours I am going to kill with this game. Furthermore, if Arkham Asylum got GOTY then Arkham City with get GOTD.

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception then. As I said, I'll be playing Arkham City for some time so even if I manage to buy Uncharted...

Dark Souls

It's Demon's Souls but better.  What more could you want?

I just hope they'll have a better co-op multiplayer system.  I want to be able to go through the whole campaign with a friend, one of us can be the melee whore while the other a mage or something.

I think I enjoyed Demon's Souls more than Oblivion, so I'm guessing I will prefer Dark Souls more than Skyrim.

I'm getting both, mind you.   ;)

I didn't know Dark Souls was coming out this winter and I totally forgot about rage, my apologies. :(

Saints Row 3 without a doubt. SR2 is one of my favorite games of all time, and it looks like SR3 will be way better. I'm also cautiously optimistic about Skyrim, hopefully it won't require over 9000 mods to be playable. I don't care about any of the other games on the list. Well, I might care about BF3 if it didn't use Origin.

I could care less about BF3.  DICE is going to turn it into their CoD.  No mod kit, 15 dollar DLC map packs, arcade style shooting.  No thank you.

I'll stick with my gritty realistic Red Orchestra 2 where when you fire your bolt action rifle and miss you have to decide if you want to try to reload again or charge the enemy and stab him with your bayonette.

Ha! ArmA2 is laughing at your so called "realism" in Red Orchestra 2

I got bored with the original ArmA.  Never looked back.

I prefer the WWII setting, anyways.

There is actually gonna be free DLC for BF3... little or no paid DLC.

Battlefield BC2 had mostly free DLC. The only one that was charged was Vietnam...

He also stressed that this hasn’t discouraged DICE from not giving away free DLC — they still plan on giving out free DLC for Battlefield 3.

Proof? Back to Karkand is a free DLC when you preorder. The 4 maps in that DLC aren't included in the 9 total maps in the game. I don't know why they didn't include them in the original game, but regardless... BF3 on day one will have 13 maps to play on. As to whether the DLC maps will continue to be free after this October is yet to be seen.

They want to secure sales by making people preorder, DLCs on release is too common these days and is a total ripoff. I dont mind DLCs but if its finished on release it should be in the game for free.
Dont know what to put here

Indeed, "free" dlc on preorder or bought new is not free dlc.  You're getting played.

Uncharted 3 getting no votes? Where the hell is Tatsujin when you need him?

By the way, all this Dark Souls coverage is really making me interested in the game and also Demon Souls, but I've had enough of aggravation for some time after playing the early God of War games. This coming from a person who made a hole in our old door when he couldn't solve a puzzle in Onimusha 2. Stupid as hell but it was either that or the TV.
