People pay extra to have them wear out/fade before they are purchased.
A fact that truly amazes me. I find a hole in my pants and I immediately replace them, but people seem to like the look. Just go to a consignment shop or thirft store, and pick a used pair up there.
On that subject, which is very much off subject, I recently purchased two very nice jackets at Goodwill for $5 each. One was a Seville Row so new that the threads hadn't been removed from the pockets!
On subject, so the mods don't start picking up their tools, I agree with those who say that writing to a congressman is useless. Unless you put in a few thousand dollars and a plane ticket ot paradise in the envelope, they won't listen, and internet partitions are pointless.[edit] oops, wrong subject.
The arguments made to the tune of "well women choose to be degrade so its okay" probably wouldn't make those same arguments about other issues. Would they say "well women in {pick a Arab country} choose to be degraded because of their beliefs"? I think not.
