The secret of lying involves not volunteering information where you don't have to, and in providing information which, if it can be verified without your knowledge, is true. The remainder, you fill in with vague or broad statements that can't possibly be construed as false, and only when you absolutely have to provide specifics and hide the truth do you blatantly lie.
If you do it right, and you're not sabotaged by circumstance, getting caught in a lie (e.g. telling someone you'd be elsewhere and then encountering them later) almost becomes an impossibility.

Been thinking of past events from being married and pulled out a couple of situations like:
A friend of mine who meet my wife for the first time said "what a cute daughter!" at which time a turn and give a full on-mouth kiss to my wife. Let him figure that one out. My wife always looked sort of young, same age as me.
When the neighbor walks into the house while having some fun... Not much you can say at the time. We both have each others house key so that if ether one of us get lock-out or something.
Always be kind to wife. If she passes gas in public, make a excuse that it must of been something I have eaten "sorry about that." Only works while sitting next to each other though.
