Been following this religiously, I watch it the second I see it's out xD

I've never gotten this pumped up and excited about a series that wasn't fighting-based. People would think I'm nuts when I jump up and scream whenever Chihaya takes a card.

Hm, jumping and screaming ... no. That's still reserved for Gin-san only ^^

Actually I'd like to see Arata in action, soon ... although, first Chihaya needs to beat the Queen.

At first I thought this was 12 eps long so I waited for all 12 to come out and marathon it, then I see in the subfolder that I have 15 eps now, gotta start watching soon or i'll be too far behind to watch it without crying how Chihaya overcomes the obstacles.

You can't really hate Chihaya at all, there is no way you can hate someone who is into a game for the sheer fun of playing it and who gets mad only at herself when she loses and not at the person that beat her.

Honesty is her greatest weapon even if it's a double bladed sword against her, she still menages to play and have the most fun out of it.

One thing bothers me, Chihaya doesn't have much say when it comes to her own competition, and her sister constantly tries to be the better one. Although that Quiz was funny :) She deserved that :DD

It surprised me when Chihaya (and we) found out that her parents are compiling her own achievements as well.
That was so touching :)

And now that I marathoned the entire 15 eps, I'm ready for more !

Personally I do not think they can complete the entire story in 24 episodes, but that only depends on how they will do it.

RECAP !
D:

Chihaya should become classic literature teacher or something along that lane.

Episode 23 Comment on Chihaya :

Ekhm ...Beauty in vain.

just caught up to ep 23. . .(i had 16 episodes stalled)

anyways. . .i dont even know why I stalled it. . .I still find it pretty interesting. . . I like Saki better. . .but this one is not bad at all. . . and the "romance" is developing pretty damn. . .ambiguous, Chihaya is so unpredictable that I cant really know who (if any) she likes. . .

Im hoping one of them will man up and do something about it. . .

anyways, this anime isnt really a "tease" for me in that aspect. . .so Im enjoying it so far :)

I'd say she admires Arata, and likes Taichi a lot, but they would probably be forever friendzoned, I don't really see her with a guy the way she is now, she is far too absorbed into Karuta. The only way she would change would be to Taichi and Arata to confess to her together at the same time in front of Kana and Sensei, this setup would have such a stressing impact on her that she would have to, oh the monstrosity, THINK about it fast.

Well, I really don't see her with any of the two guys until she stops playing Karuta, I just don't see her in a relationship with anything else than Karuta for now.

Of course it will, I loved it a lot and there is still a lot to do.
They wouldn't demand 5 new members otherwise.

I had a different end in mind
(click to show/hide)
I would've loved the queen to have more screen time, she seemed pretty legit and could bond with Chihaya pretty nice due to those weird characters. . .

anyways, good anime, deserves this:

Such a great series. Ended better than I had hoped too, considering the source is still on-going. I can't wait for season 2!

So there is going to be a Season 2?
I'm on episode 15 of season 1. It's kind of cute but sometimes the characters drive me a bit crazy. Guess season 1 ends well though?

It ended properly, leading straight into second season with a lot of commitment, all that's left is an announcement of it happening.

The season ended in a clear way not even hinting on continuation, it actually punches you in the face telling to wait for more, so expecting a second season is natural.

It reminds me of saki. . .and how long have we been waiting for that =.=

The queen is probably my favourite character, they should make a short series on her.
