I have this mixed feelings about him being completely heartbroken. . .like big time! but another part of me wants him to be happy with Inori. . .

she has a role other than the assumed 'concubine' limp wimp thinks she plays 2-3 times per month. Let me ask this, if you had a gorgeous concubine, would you only spend two to three nights per month with her?

While this wasn't as exciting as other episodes, I think it had more important information that we and our hero need. It wasn't subtle either. Nothing subtle about the hot kiss of a wet fist.

according to TVTropes it was a combination of Kenji and Inori's void (which begs the question of how adding gravity control to a sword makes it shoot lasers, or was that a railgun of sorts?). I think it was Inori's just upgraded.
anyone clearly saw if it was one or the other?

well only from gravity gun you can make some sort of laser weapon .... And Inori weapon in not only sword

And what a chance that that weapon was form different girl, one which looks like as Inori, but older.
In previous episode while speaking with Inori, Gai mentioned that she looks like some other girl x. And that girl should be dead or gone.

Around 19:30 you definitely see the gravity gun combining with Inori's void, but what makes that combination looks like a laser I don't know.

It's a common subversion for the "person from the past" to be (a) the similar person's brother/sister  (b) the present person.  Since we know Voids are personality based powers it could be that the girl's personality could have altered her Void into a laser gun.

wait, i just answered my goddamn question. moving on, it still begs the question of why such gun is powerful enough to destroy satellites...  at least the Kaleidoscope had the excuse of coming from a psychopath. the new weapon comes from a persona we have very little information on. beforehand.

yes, i know it will most likely be explained later. but it still feels awkwardly invoked.

The laser he used to destroy the Leukocyte is not a combination of voids.  Clearly, Inori has some other spirit in her or something that has personal significance to Gai.

The laser cannon belongs to that other girl, not Inori.  That was why Gai was stunned when he saw the weapon, he knew who it belonged to because he knows what weapons belong to which people.

Proof : when Gai saw the void he went, "That void..." and Shu immediately responded, "You know who this void belongs to, right?"

I still think it was from Inori. Maybe she has a split personality... or she kind of like... absorbed that other girl into her somehow and she has two voids. Just cuz Shu saw the other girl in his mind doesn't mean that she was the one that he took the void from. Teenage kids hallucinating ain't all that unusual.

Hopefully the next episode will explain things, at least in part.

The Guilty Crown manga is an adaptation which started publishing this Nov 2011.  Normally, I don't like manga that are adapted from anime because they often seemed to be less "good" than a manga that was published to stand alone by itself as a marketable work.  If you want to check out the scanlation and offer comments to the scanlator, that would probably be helpful as the main guy seems to be new at it.

If you make something go fast enough in atmosphere, that thing will burn. Hypervelocity rifles have that problem. THe bullet burns up before it hits the target. This iw why shooting stars don't kill more people each year. They burn up. Also why you can see them, eh?

So gravity and a sword? Inori's void is segmented, to be able to shoot stuff out of it? Or is that Shu;s handiwork? (maybe he isn't as rudderless as we first thought)
