We have a couple of nice sets of Japanese chopsticks which my aunt brought back from Japan as a souvenir years ago, they're great. I much prefer them to Chinese chopsticks, since they're square at one end, they're so much easier to handle. Though they're also relatively short.

Great for eating udon with though :D

On the topic of alcohol... it's just occurred to me that I've never tried sake. I really need to rectify this problem.

Cold sake is pretty much crap. If you're gonna drink, drink only the warm one.

I don't feel difference while using Chinese or Japanese chopsticks. I'm used to them. My Chinese teacher taught me how to handle them ages ago :D

Eh I miss her =((

Yeah, you're extraordinarily lucky to be alive.  At least you had some friends who were smart enough to check on you.  But, yeah, you absolutely should not have driven yourself home.

As much as I joke about drinking alcohol, the truth is I have a healthy respect for the effects of it.  I know what my limits are and I very rarely push them.  Most important, though, is if you're going to drink, do it around people who you trust to look out for you.  People who are capable of saying, "Hey, you've had too much," or who will keep an eye on you when you've pushed beyond the limits of comfortable drunkenness and who will keep you from doing stupidly dangerous shit like driving.  It's good to have a few people around who will maintain enough of their wits to keep things from getting out of control.

Wow, that's pretty bad. As Ixarku said, you're lucky to be alive.

Since we're sharing our alcoholic war stories... I don't have anything quite so dramatic - the drunkest I've ever been, I actually don't remember what happened, really. I think I'd mostly been drinking double JD and cokes all night, but god knows how many I'd actually had. Apparently I was thrown out of a club (which I have no memory of even entering) at around 4am because I was going around hugging random strangers. Then nobody knows what happened to me until I turned up home, still totally plastered, at around 9:30am. It should only have been a 25 minute walk home. I have absolutely no idea where I went, what I did, or why. :-\

I probably just fell asleep in a bus stop somewhere, but it's still slightly scary having this 5 hour period of total blankness in my memory. Normally you at least remember bits and pieces. After that night I resolved never to get that drunk again, and fortunately there've only been a couple of times since when I've come close... but yeah. Alcohol is scary stuff.

I don't actually use chopsticks all that often, but I really should. I definitely need the practice.

I don't think I've ever been what I would truly consider blackout drunk.  There was one day around New Year's 4 or 5 years ago where I was mixing drinks that consisted of white rum, vodka, gin, triple sec, sweet & sour mix or Sprite, and a bit of blueberry liqueur and raspberry liqueur.  I successfully managed to wipe out the memories of my rommate and another friend for most of the day.  We started drinking at my house around 12pm, and continued until after midnight.

I do remember cooking dinner, feeding everyone, and watching Iron Man as a group sometime late in the afternoon.  Then the only thing I remember after that was trying to watch Macross Frontier at 1am or 2am and trying to keep one of my friends awake, but failing.  I was functional for most of the day, but pretty drunk.

Cold Sake being crap pretty much depends on person to person. I haven't tried it so i won't argue with you but still. :)

Some sake is supposed to drunk cold -- nigori sake in particular.  It's actually my favorite variety of sake out of the dozen or so different kinds of sake I've tried.  Personally, I like the nigori with a little bit of ice in it.

Dryer sakes consumed when hot tend to confuse my sense of taste.  I drink them expecting them to have a strong bite, like some vodkas or other harsh liquors, but sake never delivers that bite.

Oh damn it.... Just one more week and that's it... The scholar year begins. My torture begins..

I'm both glad and annoyed.

I'm glad because I'll finally quit my work (I can't take it anymore, too much effort, a total waste of time for a little amount of money).
I'm glad because finally there will be something else to do - that is study.

I'm annoyed because I won't have free time at all.
I'm irritated because I will be able to watch anime only on weekends and that is if I'm lucky.

I will have to take private classes of maths, and study Japanese all on my own. This both scare me a bit...

Plus I'm graduating from university this year, and I have to write a paper of 40 pages until April.

How the hell am I going to handle all of this?

Having 6 months to do a 40 page paper isn't bad! When I was taking English Comp at the community college we had 2 weeks to do our 12-page final. I ended waiting until the day it was due to do it, and did it in a little over 5 hours. I ended up getting the best grade in the class too on my final.  8)

Apparently people tend to forget that you're from Armenia (was it? not entirely sure and too lazy to check right now) if it isn't mentioned on a regular basis...^^

Actually this was the first case. Those with whom I chat regularly remember quite well where I'm from.

My apologies. I don't believe I actually know where anyone is from here on BBT. On my other forum that I frequent (Overclock.net, tech enthusiast forum), a user's location is placed under their avatar along with other information so it's just a quick glance away. So it looks like I learned something new today.  ;D

I'd start with writing that paper as soon as possible, the sooner you start the sooner you finish obviously.
Private lessons ain't bad, if you have RSS on anime to auto DL stuff you will simply accumulate anime and watch whenever you have the time for it, it's all down to managing with your free time, and you will have to learn to manage it since you won't have much of it to begin with.

It's all down to what I told you about I think half a year ago lol.

As the old saying goes, if there's a will, there's a way

^ Yeah I'll start with the paper, but I need to meet my supervisor first. That I can do only in September.

And lol, I'll reread those messages. You gave me some really good advice back then I recall.

And if you noticed (though I doubt) I've been trying to go to bed earlier this last week. Like staying up until 1 am the most.

But still, I've always been bad with managing my time T_T I will have to use sheer will power to go through all of this.

And yes, there is a will, and a strong one so I will have to find the way^^
