Well that's the main reason I try hard to fake RP (Received Pronunciation/Queen's English).

Just speak American English and no-one cares of your accent anymore, my accent is closer to british one because they teach British here in Finland.

yeah, the language has degraded so quickly over the years. most kids these days don't even know how to prperly use the words they know how to spell. and don't get me started on the ones they don't know how to spell. it's a free for all over here.

I may sound ambitious but darn it! I want to know English on the level of native speaker >.>
Actually that's my main goal for the time being.
Just conversing with people native to the language is by far the best thing you can do. Every person I meet in the U.S is surprised when I let them know I'm an international student, as my accent sounds completely native.

Yeah, so as I said, just know English on American level, and you'll be fine

Finding natives here is a hard task. But I never lose an opportunity to talk to natives when I see them. I just don't get the chances very often.

mAh, American English is not English. Though I tried for ages to use only American English. And as a result.. Now some of the words I pronounce with British emphasizes, others with US. Not a really good thing.

Learning English---> chooses to learn British English over all the other sorts.

A wise choice.
There must a be a reason for tanking things. And all must be in certain balance.
But what that balance is, must depend only on you, nobody else.

I actually tried to learn US English for ages, while we very passing British English in school. US English sounded kind of cool back then. But during this last year I decided to be able to fake both British and American accents. However, British English comes first. Well, for simple reason. British English is the only real English.

Indeed. Americans tend to think people using British English sound more intelligent (in my experience), whereas British people tend to think very differently of people who speak American English, so it's a win-win really.

Plus if you're going to learn a language, you should make sure you do it properly by learning the correct grammar/vocab :p

It is a win win bob!

I get a lot of flak for this opinion IRL, so it's nice to see us all agreeing
