Indeed. Even a lot of native speakers manage to mess it up on a regular basis, without doing it on purpose.

Nope... I'm one of the few select who are actually able to express themselves properly, even though I never even once sat down to learn those pesky grammar rules, which are kinda complex at times, even for native speakers (when I had to write essays and stuff in school, I always got A grades for grammar. The bad marks (Bs and Cs) were always in the "expression" and "content" sections)^^

I only had a problem with the commas. I always ended up guessing whether one was needed or not.

Content of my essays was always bullshit. Grammar somehow always saved me but i still think it's below average.

I always got "it's the will that counts" Cs, because my teacher liked me (except for the final exam, where other teachers rated us... in that one single exam I got a D for content, because it was significantly better than my other works)... she never even once noticed that I didn't do better because I was plain lazy xD

My writing is pretty good, I got 5's on my AP exams, but that's about the only benchmark I have. That's equivalent to 90%+ in first year University courses. I think. Might be 86%+...

My handwriting looks typed up italicized, but gets larger in scale and more sloppy when I'm rushed.
You can imagine what it looks like in final exams

Well i never knew the rule that people don't write in cursive outside elementary.. so i kinda carried on.
