That movie was a lot more thought provoking then people gave it credit for.
Turns out to be a bit of mindfuck, but just ignore that.

It was amazing when I watched it stoned. When I watched it the next morning, I was laughing at the awful sound effects and overall ridiculousness of it.

I think desktop bits can explode too.

And if the battery is failing I'd have said its more likely to putter out than explode

I will get a new laptop/desktop if it just dies normally. If it explodes i won't be needing a new one in afterlife.

Sure, transistors and capacitors can go "pop" and let the magic smoke escape, but there's nothing with nearly enough energy stored to cause an actual explosion in a desktop. A laptop battery on the other hand...
