Spend two week stressing, crying, despairing, and not sleeping at night over it. Try to block any kind of hobby you might have from you. Beg your boss to give you a few days off. From work and spend all your freaking days studying studying studying like a crazy until your brain hurts so much you can't even read and hopefully you can dig yourself out of this hole. If you trully are in a situation similar to mine, you shouldn't be here. Go a way.
@Ixarku Well, I took care of the most urgent things. For a starter I was on my way to fail all my courses and I managed to save them all except for literature which I gave up. I'm not gonna be thrown out of college or put on probation or anything and next semester, which starts next week will have a normal pace so it shouldn't be as bad. I talked about my procrastination problem with my mother and she said some colleges have researches to help people like that so I'm gonna see with the administration what they can do for me. Come up with a plan so it doesn't happen again. I was seriously on the verge of a burn out there. I basically had to 10 weeks worth of stats in two days for my final exam.
I'm glad you pulled thru it. I can certainly relate to burnout on work or school or both -- I think we've all been there at one point or another.
Actually, I think planning in general is one of the best ways to deal with procrastination. If you have a task to do, especially a lengthy or challenging one, sit down and figure out what needs to be done. Break the task down into manageable chunks first, because it's easier to get your head around a smaller task than a larger one. Then come up with a method of handling each smaller task, and put together a schedule or sequence, so you know what needs to be done when. When things are smaller & simpler, it's easier to avoid procrastination. You know, take baby steps to get through it. Start with the general, and drill down to the specifics. This is basically the methodology I use when I have to test a large project, and it's a skill that's valuable in many other aspects of life.
Of course, you still have to have the self-discipline to follow-thru on the smaller tasks.
