Some people are sensitive about things like hearing that other people masturbate while viewing the same pages they view. The masturbator posting dirty-talk on the page probably doesn't help either.
Anyway, it seems like I have already successfully left such notions behind me.

It's probably also partly to be considerate. If your partner is doing something important you don't want to interrupt them and so you simply masturbate instead.
