Finished watch Death Note. While the plot was pretty convoluted, I pretty much knew how it was going to end from the first episode.

Eh. Back to watching Lucky Star.

Death note was okay, even season two was okay, but that's all it was, it was no more than just okay.

I actually watched the live action movies together with mum back when I lived at her place, which was pretty fun despite that the acting in the movies is so stupidly exaggerated. I guess I can say I liked it all, just can't really praise it for anything in particular as it's not out of the ordinary fantastic or anything.

but everyone have already watched it and know what I'm on about

Death Note was actually my second anime or something near that. I loved first season. L made it really interesting. But after L's death DN became a bullshit. So as a result I hated the show.. But it has nice osts and op/ed.

I really liked the first odd 4-8 episodes of it. Could never force myself to watch it past that. It'd be a great show if it was a shorter ova. Either the idea itself or the execution is too shite to give enough to play with for more episodes and still be "fresh".

Death Note had the problem that is was written by a moron for idiots.
It underestimates the viewer and treats him/her like a 4 year old kid. Combine that with the horrible writing and the plot devices to get a clue of how the story develops. We have inconsistent characters, total 180s in the story and instructions on how to chew the story.
The "mysteries" aren't any better since the writer didn't really know anything about what he was doing and ends up with solutions that a kid could do better or needs to pull things off his hat to make it.

Liked the acting and art though.
Which makes me sad and angry, good acting, good art, great concept, fucked up result. There was potential for a really good series there.

Wow, so nice to see a person that feels the same way about "Death Note" as I do.
