AFAIK there are no facilities anywhere near my area offering Japanese language courses, so it's all self-study which is why it's so difficult. My mind tends to wander a lot, but I found that listening to Japanese radio podcasts while drilling kanji, vocab and grammar helps keep me concentrated and it also makes for good listening practice.I honestly can't say I'm enjoying being confound to my room for such lengths, though. I'm hoping to take the JLPT sometime next year to gauge my progress which is why I've tightened up on my studying so much.Quote from: megido-rev.M on November 30, 2012, 08:29:38 PMA life goal, probably as well.Yeah. I'd like to be fluent in Japanese before I turn 30 and become an official old man.

A life goal, probably as well.
Good luck! As someone studying in uni, I can say for certain that I'd never be able to manage it purely through self-study. How much progress have you made?がんばってくださいね。
Yeah. I'd like to be fluent in Japanese before I turn 30 and become an official old man.
Quote from: F1ForFun on November 30, 2012, 08:34:09 PMYeah. I'd like to be fluent in Japanese before I turn 30 and become an official old man. Don't worry, even if you're not fluent by 30, your definition of 'old man' will change by then and it won't matter anyway.

You're old and decrepit and angry Ixarku, and don't let anyone tell you different

It's weird, my upstream is normal, but the downstream is nearly at the floor. Incidentally, the WAN light of the router is constantly flashing and for some reason no speed test page works. What do ?
Nope, that's the second thing I tried among three others. (soft reboot, hard reboot, indirect reboot, (un)changing settings)The only thing I can think of is the cold, but I want to figure out the flashing WAN light first.

I've made great progress and I was just reading Yotsuba& raw yesterday. The problem I'm haing is sometimes I'm not sure where one word ends and another begins occasionally, especially when the sentence contains unfamiliar/unknown words. The manga SFX don't make shit worth of sense to me either, but I expected that much.

I'd try restarting both, the modem first if they're separate. If you log into the router, are the connection settings correct (they probably are since you're getting up, but not down...)Here's a faq from netgear about blinking wan lights http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1108/~/router-wan-light-is-flashing-and-there-is-no-connection-to-router-or-access
To be more specific, I turned off everything. BTW the one thing that annoys me is how slow the modem admin pages are, which I believe is related to the WAN thing. If the down speed is even the same as the up speed I would be going somewhere.Anyway, reading the link.--Didn't apply....

The last thing would be to call your ISP and see if its something on their end, and if all else fails try a reset.
