I just had the weirdest dream in a long time. In it it was this japanese pet; a mix of a cat and a rabbit. It was very cute and adorable. Too bad it was only a dream.
Sounds better than my dream this morning. I only remember fragments, but, to recap, The Thing (as in, John Carpenter's The Thing) had managed to consume most animal & insect life on Earth, leaving plant life alone because plants did not provide it with enough energy. (This is dream logic so don't ask me why my subconscious made this decision.) There were a few people who were still running around alive, including myself and some dark-haired woman. The Thing had infected me but inexplicably hadn't consumed me; instead, it seemed to have fixated on me, maybe like a puppy would. It seemed like it wanted to commune or something. It would occasionally come looking for me, wanting to talk, but the only thing I remember it saying was, "We are the Dali and we wish to be here." The dark-haired woman was trying to understand it & figure out what it wanted, to see if it was possible somehow to peacefully coexist with it.
The last thing I remember is that for some reason, The Thing liked to peek in on me in the form of a swarm of tiny gray spiders. (I used to see a lot of these spiders as a kid, and I always thought they were funny and non-threatening instead of scary.) I remember being outside in the grass, and a bunch of these spiders started swarming near my feet.
Then my alarm clock woke me up. I need to not go to sleep with a stomach ache. I always have the weirdest damn dreams when I do.
