Lucky you, after all Russian literature is very rich and you are unlikely to run out of books any time soon.  :)

I rather read Russian classic in Latvian or English. That level Russian is still out of my reach.
I am currently reading - Tatyana's Tolstaya's (Татья́нaТолста́я) novel "The Slynx/Kys" (Кысь) and its a struggle. She have such rich language and she uses "old" words. I know conversational and modern literal language not the classical one :(

I don't hate math. I just think it's too simple. There's a right answer for everything. Everything with no room for interpretation is boring.

Have to agree - it is mostly boring. But its not simple.

he he well, I do hate math as I have almost no logical thinking. I can deal with the theory but I can never apply it :D

Normally I'd make a diplomatic post about how I personally don't enjoy maths, but can see why some other people would. However, I have just spent the last 4 hours revising solidly for my upcoming statistics exam, and right now my opinion is that everyone who likes maths must be completely, 100% evil, and should be burnt at the stake for witchcraft.

...unless you can explain the central limit theorem and how you use it to ascertain whether the mean of your sample means is an accurate representation of the mean of the overall population to me in simple terms I can actually understand - in which case I'll make an exception and allow you to live.

You have a number of people, P, and the average difference of height between them, H.
When there is enough people the people put in rows according to height resemble a triangle like shape, the bell curve. How many people you need for this to happen is dependent on the average difference of height between people.

So when H is big, P needs to be big and when H is small, P can be smaller to get this.

Because we can!

I'm thinking more like this: I have a production line producing nails, and I want to check that it's making them the right length. Since it produces millions of nails, I take 10 samples of 100 nails each, and find out the average length of each of these samples. I then find the average of these 10 average lengths, and the distribution. What I *think* I need to be able to do (my lecturer's notes are completely useless, so I'm not even 100% sure about that) is find out whether this average accurately represents the average length of all the nails being produced, and isn't just a fluke result caused by only picking extra long or short nails for the samples.

I've had two lectures on it, and I still don't have a clue where to even start on working it out =/ If there's one subject I've never been able to get my head around, it's maths, lol. I have some friends studying a maths degree who are used to having to explain problems to me in the simplest terms possible, so I think I'm probably going to end up asking them for help again :P

And you'll get a number which represent some percentage of chance that the actual result is within your measurements. Yeah, that's right.

It might provoke a un-logical wish to bang your had on the wall till it splits up, but still we do have logic :D
