I get embarrassed by that as well, but I'm a closet otaku so it kind of makes sense... I don't want anyone to know. Although a tonne of people know now but I still try to hide it.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I tend to avoid browsing this site when I'm using the internet in the library because I always feel awkward when I scroll past peoples' huge, sometimes ecchi, anime sigs. Even though people walking past are probably too far away to see what they are anyway.

I wont even watch / look at completely tame and normal anime if people are near by. I also keep all avatars and sigs turned off just so I can browse the forums in public.

No, but even when I lived at home my parents knew I liked anime. I really don't get why its so taboo. Hiding it just reinforces the stereotype tbh.

Hey, maybe it's different with guys. People judge us. When they see us scrolling by some slightly NSFW picture (or sometimes just innocent anime), they label us pervs.
