That's not the point. The point is, most of the threads there are about anime that I (and presumably Ixarku) wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.

OK. Could be interpreted both ways... Sucks to dislike 90% of the animes that have threads there though.
For me, I think it's more what Froody's saying. Every so often, I check that subforum, click on a random thread, and the majority of the time, someone has posted a description of whatever show it is. I read it, and my reaction is usually, "Eh, this sounds boring / stupid. Why the hell should I care?" It's not that I actively dislike any particular shows, it's probably just that my tastes are different from the majority of younger anime fans. Characters and plot are pretty important to me, moreso than art or animation style, so I get pretty tired of seeing the same anime tropes repeated endlessly.
Fortunately, at the pace at which I watch, and with the huge backlog of shows that I have, I'll probably never run out of anime to watch. And since I got a Netflix streaming account, my anime watching has slowed down even more.
