You don't like the characters?
The reason being is because there is no positive outlook people will get if they see that in my room. Only one thing would come to mind.

My aunts have a collection of nude girl statuettes and nobody bats an eye about it. (and my family are all conservative catholics)
if i had anime figurines i'm sure they'd go "why do you keep this perverted stuff?".
I'm pretty much sure because most anime and manga characters look like young girls, although you can't teach ignorant fuckheads to stop being ignorant fuckheads in any other way than forceful submission

or making them watch one of the better shows with deep story to tell and explaining that you have those because you really love the characters.
I would opt for the former than latter.
Majority of people do not want to accept violence as means to discipline, but quite honestly I was disciplined and I grew to be a proper person who only wishes to do crimes against humanity and slaughter mankind where it stands.
Most kids these days that are being raised without discipline are committing real crimes like thievery, mugging, violence and vandalism without even knowing why the fuck most normal people don't do it. I mean, I dream of slaughtering mankind where it stands, but I am not doing it, but most kids around age 12-16 already are one step away from prison.
I digressed slightly, but what I meant was, make them understand why having a cute figurine of your favorite anime or manga character is no different than your aunts collection of completely nude females, and even it's better than that, because your collection at least is clothed. If they want some complaints directed, they should direct them at your aunt instead. I'm pretty sure her excuse would be quite close to yours. Just a hobby, but yours is much better, those are just figurines, and not some statuettes of nude women in probably many kinds of poses as well, sexual I might add.
Because I probably know which ones she has.
