Just read the news that Starbucks is going to try to enter Norwegian market. I feel a bit sorry for them, coffee drinkers stick to what they are used to as a habit and coffee in scandinavia is way different from what starbucks will offer.

How many people here drink Starbucks coffee?

Coincidental that you mention this now; my roommate and a friend of his in a Swedish metal band were recently joking about opening a Hooters franchise or a Starbucks in Sweden.  Seems that chicken wings and American coffee are popular in certain circles.
It took an hour to write; I figured it'd take an hour to read.

For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

I am perfectly serious, since i'm also taking resurrection into consideration, or have you not read enough tv tropes?

Resurrection is not immortality, you live, you die and you ress up, immortality is when you can't die.

The opposite of immortality could also be undeath, since being immortal you can't die, being an undead you can't really be alive.

Hmmh, it's rather refreshing to have a newcomer in our class (... of 4 people) who actually DOES something.

You are being serious...ly baka.

Immortality is the state of existence in which a living organism in unable to die (sometimes this may only extend to natural causes, but that's irrelevant). The opposite is the state of existence in which a living organism can die, and the word for that is mortality.

The opposite of immortality could also be undeath, since being immortal you can't die, being an undead you can't really be alive.
Uh no, that's a possible antithesis, not the opposite.

Yeah, mortality...
Parts of it I admired greatly, parts I laughed at till my sides were almost sore;
other parts I read with absolute sorrow,  because I think them utterly false and grievously mischievous...

I guess i should have worded my statement better.

Immortality = Perm Life
Mortality = Temp Life
Death = What throws me off here is that it is supposed to be Perm Death but resurrection completely throws that out the window, so i guess it's somewhat Temp Death if you are extremely lucky.

First of all you can't phrase the meaning of 'immortal' as 'always alive'. Like I said earlier, it means 'unable to die'. There is a difference in what the phrasing implies. Though you might say the two are the same thing, realize that 'always alive' is a result of 'unable to die'. So when you search for an opposite, you need to consider the primary implication of the word.

Also, I don't understand anything after 'Death =', please explain it better.

Are you really that clueless or are you practising for school drama? I haven't read your post that long but some times I get the feeling you are living in a cave somewhere  ::)

No offence of course..

About what? It looks like a clown to me but it's blurry. And other BBT members who have a lot of free time to go watch clowns dancing accused me of living under a rock earlier.

If we don't pay attention to it, maybe it'll just go and stay under that rock.  ;)

And I think you (or anyone else) should not get acquainted with it, I've heard that stupidity is contagious.

Actually, the right answer is that not everything has an opposite.

E.G: What's the opposite of an octopus?
Spacetime tells matter how to move and matter tells spacetime how to curve.
