I always laugh when watching that vid, I know German enough to understand it and know that subs are completely off the hook there. It would have been much better with a fandubbed version if you ask me.

Coincidentally Yuki's German VA is quite busy, she voiced a lot of characters.

MPC with CCCP works well enough, but I'm less than tickled about the UI.

And you think I don't watch in fullscreen... why exactly? You still need the UI whenever you want to do something like skip forward or back, change the volume, select audio or subtitles. The last especially irritate me, the selections are hidden away in the menus. SMPlayer really spoiled me by having a button for each when I started it up and separate menus for audio and subtitles each.

I have the same problem. I never could get into the whole Hitler videos, cause I understand what he's saying.

@undetz
Keyboard up/down adjusts the volume.
keyboard left/right allows you to skip.
"s" adjusts the subtitles
"a" the audio track

Skip forward : press right cursor button
Rewind : left cursor button
volume up: up cursor button
volume down :down cursor button

Audio/Subs : i admit I have to go out of fullscreen but :VobSubs right click brings up a very useful menu, all subs and audio options I could need are there, but if the file is dual audio I just rip out english dubs and let them rot in the oblivion and simply leave JapDub in, leaving subs as a default flag track.

I don't like complicating my entertainment experience with meaningless options I don't need. Simple is best.

Yes guys, those things you listed are part of what is called a "user interface", well done. Have a cookie each. I don't need a tutorial for it (though I didn't recall the 'a' and 's' shortcuts, cycling is still a pain if there're 6 or more different options so there's something else to gripe about), I want it to be easily accessible in all parts.

And what the heck is up with putting "options" under "view" anyway?

mpc-hc is probably the easiest and friendliest player I encountered for PC.
The only easier thing would be hard level like this:
1- EASY MODE-MPC-HC for PC
2-Medium mode- PS2/PS3 DVD/BD Video play with a PS2 controller
3-Hard mode - DVD/BD Players

It can't really get any harder than this, seriously, you are complaining about something that can't really be easier to work with. You are just LAZY and VLC is a piece of crap.

MPC is the best in terms of format compatibility and playback, but that interface is shit-tier.

I have VLC, MPC, SPlayer, and PotPlayer. I dislike VLC and MPC, and SPlayer lacks options. PotPlayer is my favorite as of right now (I gotta give props to JC for showing it to me). Of course I have CCCP.

Havoc, "User Interface" isn't about what it looks like. In fact, the "better" or "cooler" or "more stylish" things like buttons and borders look, the worse the interface tends to be. At least that is often the case, though there may well be exceptions to the rule.

fancy menu means bigger graphical detail which in turn eats more resources, MPC-HC in my setup (default) is pretty damn bland, I seen UI fancied in some ways that I understand why their PCs are running so weird.

I tried VLC, ZOOMplayer and some otehr craps, but I will stay with MPC-HC.

So why does the interface matter, we watch the video not the interface.
