fancy menu means bigger graphical detail which in turn eats more resources, MPC-HC in my setup (default) is pretty damn bland, I seen UI fancied in some ways that I understand why their PCs are running so weird.

Not sure if just stupid or trolling.

Does anyone know whether it's possible to use a phone bought in the UK in Japan? Some people say you can just plug in a Japanese sim card and it'll work fine, but some people say it will not work at all, even with a Jap sim card. I can't find any clear answer. =/

It's still over a year until I go to Japan, but I'm vaguely considering getting a new phone soonish, and I don't want to waste my money if I'm then not going to be able to use it for a year while I'm over there.

No, Look at term the cheap one is if you buy the 12 months up front where the more expensive is just for one month. The more months you buy upfront the less it is per month. (no I am not a member of this service)

That's a stupid way of costs explanation. Probably why so little premium accounts they have, and why they are trying to force premium accounts by limiting basic account to 500 images maximum.

Well, tough luck, i'm already looking for a new host, for my 1524 images ...

That policy is not helping me lol. Also if you look at it closely, the basic account has no backup option, although when they accidentally deleted my account it was returned to normal withing a few minutes.

Liars gonna lie :)

Well, I have a month to find a place for my 1524 images :)

Any ideas ? I just might use imgur though, although so far I am only using it for my gifs ...

i'm gonna need a new host anyways for my sets.

If I was going to France, or Germany, or somewhere, then yeah, it would be as simple as that. But a lot of people seem think that's not the case for travelling to Japan (and presumably similar East Asian countries like South Korea), and I can't find anyone who actually knows for sure.

If you have Japanese/chinese/korean/arabic etc languages in your phone, it will work without a problem, information will be provided via service provider, and if you have a problem with service working you can check in the providers office to see if you need something updated or just setting.

Smartphones don't have problems actually, if they do, it's very rare these days, unless you have LG.
Even if it's working properly, LG will cause a problem sooner or later. They are made that way.
My mom had a 3 days old LG smartphone, several functions stopped responding fairly quickly.

Today I spend 2-3 h listening to seminar on cooking (damn I hate cooking) in Turkish. Most words that I understood was molecular cooking, yes, no, ok, kitchen, pica, ravioli, pasta.
I mean, ok, lets talk about cooking even in a language I do not understand, but lets not make a big deal of making food look like it is a peace of art.
I do not go to museum and say - YES, THIS PAINTING/SCULPTURE, LOOKS LIKE I WANT TO EAT IT.  I mean - whats the fu**ing point of making food looks like an art IF I DO NOT WANT TO EAT IT. I understand cooks have their competitions and so on and food should not look a sh*t on a plate, but I do not need a darn painting on my plate with nothing to eat or what ever.
I must agree to people saying that most of humanity is overfed (not because they are fat), we just look for some crazy food to eat.

How many of you have gone to museum and decided that painting is something you would want to eat?

...Men are so necessarily mad that it would be another twist of madness not to be mad...

I do not dispute that some museums are great (I love them if their are not tourist popular), but the fact that no normal person wanna eat a museum exhibit.

You may want to check with your service provider. My phone will work most anywhere but japan.

Ah, thank you very much for that link, it was very helpful. It sounds as though, so long as the phone supports 3G UMTS 2100 MHz or 3G CDMA2000 800 MHz networks, it should be able to connect to Japanese networks, with the right simcard. A bit of Googling, and it seems as though my HTC Desire can do that, so I should be fine. Thanks!
