Black does not reflect the light, so it's more of an absence of colour
Black is actually all colors. For example, green things absorb all wavelengths of light except green. Red things absorb all but red. Mix a lot of colors together, and all colored light is absorbed.
Black is the absense of color when you are talking about light, though. White is all the colors in that case.
