I only said you shouldn't have much problems running 1080p with my configuration, however if you have a P4, 2 gigs and some fairly decent GFX card that runs most of the games at low quality, you can always watch 720p or at least 480p, you don't need coreAVC for it to work. If you want to use CoreAVC properly with MPC-HC then at least learn how to use it by reading every single bit of information on how to set it up correctly. Because no matter how many times you re-install your OS, if you maluse your software, it will shit on you anyways.

If that were the case, someone would be spying on you, because ISPs normally shouldn't know what you do with your bandwidth.

update: did a test with MPC-portable

cant lock pin or what it said, tested on ponyo (1900 x

?) and another 1080+ movie. I only get picture and no sound.
(so no performance problem)

Can play them both with perfect picture and sound in vlc + core.

Can try MPC-HC but if i install it i can make a mess out of the codec by mistake :/
Any mediaplayer that is similar to MPC but work better?

my gfx card can run most games on high/max setting.
I have alot of those lower quality relases and i know i can play better versions too. What happend and what i did to try and solve it is way to long to explain but my guess so far is that it was a old codec that was messing around. I think it works good now.

3 gb ram (16 GB usb ready-boost, for the fun of it)
Nvidia 1 gb video card, dont know the number atm.

Cant add more ram on this motherboard. Will make a small upgrade when i can but it will req me to get new cpu, ram, motherboard and maybe a new good cpu cooler that can keep my cpu at ok temp even when its 30+ C around the case..

They dont know anything what you do, they notice that you pull down a high amount of data and nothing more. To know exactly what you do they have to do illegal stuff.
If you live in bigbrother country you may have it tough but i would say that they hunt the bigger ones so no reason for being afraid or scared.

Sidenote: have noticed that the ones they bully is those that seed or get fresh new movies and american movies. If you avoid grabbing the newest cinema movies you are safer. You will be the most boring person in the room but you are safer if you wait 1-2 months before getting movies, anime is even more safe but the only kind of movie that is 100% safe is the ones you buy.

I follow simple rules when i get something, if its marked as a illegal movie (you know what kind) i never touch them. I wait atleast 1-4 months before i get new movies (cinema movies) if i see one i want. The less reasons you give them the better.
Stay in private places like BBT and you will be safest. Go to public places always means a risk.

So chill and take it easy, we cant walk around being scared and if we do anything do it so its as safe as possible.

ISP actually can know exactly what you do, but ISP never cares about that anyways, the only ones that could care are people that suspect your activity and if they want to know details they need court approval to do anything due to personal data protection law worldwide. The same law ACTA/PITA/SOPA are trying to overthrow.

they know what adress you visit and how much data you take down or send up but they dont take "samples" of the data and look what it is.

I dont think they would sell that much 10/100/1000 mbit internet contracts if people dont need it. We angels here need high speed to do our studies and homework.

They don't need to, hardly anything but games and movies take more than 100 megs, of course there are programs that have more than that, but rarely. Anyone can safely assume that anything you DL that is higher than 150 megs is probably a movie or a game file.

I don't think ISPs bother tracking the addresses of sites visited (outside DNS resolution logging, if any), let alone a constant 70kB/s stream. As well, big files could be anything from media to software, among other things.

my updates alone for my game is around 300-500 mb each time. I was forced to use a alternative one time and they told me it was enough for 4 weeks (5gb of data max), it lasted 3 weeks for me while i was playing. My normal internet is unlimited

I would never go for a limited GB ISP, I used to play WOW, a monthly data transfer is in 2 gigs at the minimum, occasional patches and other stuff. My monthly data transfer on DL is around 10 gigs at minimum, upload is around 8-12 gigs monthly. I had a nice provider earlier but they had to make some changes so instead of accepting the annex to contract I had it revoked and took a different provider. No one will be limiting my freedom for internet, it feels like censoring or something if you know what I mean.

My unlimited internet is 70$ per month, how much is it where you are?

stationary phone is a thing of the past nowadays, in sweden it cost more to have a stationary line than a mobile phone.

And my Cell (3 of them now! selling Monte soon, i'll stay with Wave and Galaxy Y) is much better anyways.

Pfft, a different ISP offers 100mbps for around 50$, can't be arsed though, read a few bad things about them. tech support is shitty, also I don't need anything better. 100mbps is too much for me.

Open the movies by doubleclick and you only get a mediaplayer that cant play them. or they can but they will take ages to open

(not really planned for it but i havent changed it to the right one yet, maybe do it later)

i dont have that bad friends but in case i leave my computer at someone when i travel or something i know they cant open some of the movies. Only the low quality ones will work
