That's the thing about Havoc. Squid Girl may look cute and innocent, but in fact, her tentacles serve the sole purpose to drag you down to the darkest and obscure part of your brain's ocean floor only to awaken desires you wished you'd never have.
Why not ?

But I will disappoint you, Ika Musume is actually keeping me on a civil level.

Why not ?

Let's be honest here. Is there anyone who isn't afraid that some obscure desire or wish would surface and totally throw over everything you thought was right, good and sure? Like someone who strongly believes that gays should be banished but finds out that he himself is sexually attracted to men?

She does have that effect, yes. Though her friendship with that orange-haired girl gets me some very interesting yuri fantasies.

I wouldn't go as far as gays, but honestly, I stopped giving a fuck about what people think about me, I'm being myself, that means I'm honest, if they don't like it, to hell with them.

That doesn't mean i'm evil ... oh wait I am ...

Anyways, i'm being civil.

If only it was, that would be much more interesting. :P It's double-entry bookkeeping, basically. Easy (compared to the rest of this module), but oh so boring.

I'm actually studying Japanese & Business Studies, and one module of the business studies part is "Introduction to Accounting", so I'm revising for the exam in that. It's not until Monday, but as things are now I'm going to fail, so I have a lot of work to do :)

yup i know what double entry book keeping is... i AM doing CA...the highest qualification for any accountant.
so you can ask me anything. :)

yup you are being civil.. i have no arguments concerning that :)
these kinds of things are obviously acceptable as long as i know what they mean :D

if you had only told me sooner ;)

So video games are evil. Oh, and porn is too.

This is golden. I'll probably buy this book to make a laughingstock out of it.

I find it hilarious that the controllers they are holding are for N64s... they couldn't even find a current gen system/controllers for the picture for their news article?

If you held a certain console controller in hands, you will recognize it every time you see it.

yeah but that doesn't make it less funny.  It just seemed like a bit of oversight to me, especially after I doubled-checked the date the article was released.

As well, an N64 controller is VERY distinctive.. if you know what one looks like you'll always be able to tell it is one.. it's the only controller (that I know of) that has 3 prongs for your hands instead of 2.

Well. Nintendo has always been a synonym for gaming.

Though I have to agree to the study to some extent. Boys are getting more and more in trouble - but I personally think that video games are a symptom of a society that is fundamentally wrong in the way it treats its individuals.

I do not know how it looks like where you come from, but here, typical male characteristics like the strife for success are regarded as less acceptable, something that puts entire generations in a tight spot. Eventually, entire societies will suffer from this loss...

OK, I'm getting off track here.  ;D

Probably some server tech stuff or it broke down because it was too busy.

I was so set on creating anime-planet account and having my anime list uploaded there from anidb (to lazy to find and ad 1000 + titles >_> as IF I can even remember them all)

They may be a synonym for gaming, but why not then show like, some wii-motes which are current gen? or even gamecube controllers which are used on the wii? just seems weird.

I dunno, that article seems to be a lot of speculation without much fact to back it up.  A number of the heavier gamers I know are also some of the more social people I know.  Perhaps it's because this is a summary of a book, but the article in general just feels weak and lacking in evidence in my opinion.

I have to agree.

Instant gratification isn't exactly something that forces one to learn focus, ambition and planning.

However, it's not exactly fair to expect men to have the mindset of the people born in the 1950's without the pressures that men had back in the 1950's. After all, the world has changed. Gender liberation while great for women, did result in men no longer "requiring" to succeed. The whole thing has become far more optional.

I am as puzzled as you are. I'd normally say they used an old stock photograph, but it looks too new.

My point exactly. Most gamers I know (unless they play just because of the cool feel to it) are quite educated, open-minded and sociable people. Though there are of course cases of disorders, but this has more of a social background. You don't become an addict because you want to, most kids I knew are just trying to escape a reality that treats them unfair (whether this is objectively correct or not) and become addicted in the process.

Yup.

While this is true, it does not mean that certain "manly" traits should be completely abolished, like some pedagogic movements think.

I guess this comes back to taking everything in moderation.  Too much of anything can be bad for you, be it video games, porn, food.. but at the same time a lot of these things make our lives more awesome so long as they are not taken overboard.
