Lol, I think these words do not mean what you think they mean!  Spend a summer in Florida with no A/C and let me know how it goes.
 
Incidentally, it was a Florida physician who came up with the first modern use of compressor technology to cool air.  Or, to paraphrase what I was taught in high school, it was a Floridian who invented central air conditioning.

Well, an otaku would be, to put in western definition, an anime/manga/etc. addict. I was just checking to see if you had well over 100,000 like havoc.

Well, our summers do get hot if we have a long time wind from Russia, last summer was past 35 for a few weeks and past 30 for a month or so.

Blackout problem here isn't as bad as it is in Florida... :O

Nah, just depends on your mindset. If you spend all of your money on anime merchandise and have nothing left for food, let alone your rent, I'd say you have a problem.

Otaku is sometimes used as a derogatory term, like the work Geek or Nerd.

So they're trying to be too cool for school and don't want to be affiliated with it (damn dirty hipsters!)
