Keep hating. I personally could careless about the lore. I'm surprised you people do. I play because it's fun in one way but can get boring after a certain amount of time, until a new patch hits. They gotta do something about "that".
Raids and dungeons are fun the first time, after that it's just a boring gear grind. I just can't see how people can find it entertaining.
I find it entertaining so I we can get gear to have a head start when the next expansion drops, plus I can gear alts.
Tho I admit it gets old grinding for months on end after completion, but alcohol and vent conversations make the time go by.
So it's no longer about the game entertaining you... it's about you trying to find a way to entertain yourself while playing the game. Ummm... that's not a game. That's work with digital rewards (that become obsolete by the next patch/expansion). 
True, but I enjoy the race and playing with people who I have played with for years.
The whole spreadsheet upgrade system is lame but the game for me is the competition and it achieves that well.
For me, its about learning and beating raid mechanics asap. And the game I play are 54 man raids and can be pretty damn intricate. You cant just throw bodes at it. Plus its hard to just abandon a toon you have had for 12 years, lol.
However, I am not talking about WoW, I dunno how it is there.
