Have not yet downloaded Madoka Magica like I had planned, but I realized I hadn't watched Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS so I just finished watching that a day or two ago.
It's not nearly as bad as some reviews make it sound. The music was a definite downside because Nanoha and Nanoha A's had a very awesome soundtrack - but honestly, StrikerS had some good characters with interesting backgrounds, some good fights that were not standard for that series, and they did tone down a lot of the loli-fanservice that was rampant in the transformation scenes - maybe some people liked them, but I think they detracted from the show and it's style and overall feel. To me, all the loli-fanservice amounts to looking at a barbie doll, or one of the young barbie dolls.
After watching that though, I think I do need a break from the whole Mahou Shoujo anime's for a while.
I also finished Elfen Lied yesterday - it's impressive... but it can be a bit of a downer for obvious reasons. Still, it was pretty solid.
Now? I'm watching Rurouni Kenshin =D
I've seen it literally 10 or more times, but it's always going to be right there at the top of my list with the rest of the greats.
