Is this a good encode?
« on: November 01, 2011, 05:33:05 PM »
I am currently transitioning from using tools such a yatta to encode to just writing myself a script for avisynth. I just recently tried my hand at encoding episode 4 of majikoi, but it's filesize it way smaller than expected (240mb without sound, but the sound can only add a maximum of 41mb so: ~281mb).

Comparing this to other encodes: Hiryuu, Zero raws, and Korean raws The file size is significantly smaller, but I notice very few differences.

Is my encode a bad encode, and if so what needs improving? I am a learning encoder trying to improve, so any comments are appreciated.

Try AvsP or AvsPMod for writing the scripts.
What was your source by the way?
Also post your script.
