LoZ: Skyward Sword
« on: November 17, 2011, 08:08:16 PM »
In case you've been living under a rock, the next legend of zelda game is released this weekend which many reviewers claim rivals Ocarina of Time. I've had the limited edition pre-ordered for a while, but who else is as excited for this game as I am? Unfortunately it doesn't release until sunday in the united states, so I won't have the entire weekend to play but I can't wait.

I have pre-ordered it.  But I'm going to reserve my hype to see how well it actually turns out.

It LOOKS like its going to be more like the older Zeldas, like Link to the Past or Link's Awakening with the combat of Ocarina of Time.  But I'm still pretty scarred from my experiences of Twilight Princess and Phantom Hourglass.  If this ends up being anything like Twilight Princess...I'll probably end up having a negative view of it.

But I'm giving it a chance!  Especially since there's a different guy besides Aunoma directing it.

Wish I could play this game, but I just can't justify buying a Wii for only Mario and Zelda games.   :'(

Then get it for Muramasa, Metroid, Little King's Story, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Epic Mickey, No More heroes, or a dozen other games?

If anything, wii's are very easy to hack so even if you only bought one to play certain games, you could hack it and play others for free. There are good games for the wii you just have to look through 1000 crappy shovel-ware party games to find them.

Well so far I've played about 10 hours of Zelda: Skyward Sword.  And I gotta say, I'm loving it.  Its like they took the style and design of the 2D games and put it into a 3D world.  And even after just a short time, I've come to enjoy the characters in this game more than Majora's Mask, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess combined.

The one area the game seems to be lackingis there are still a lot of 'fetch quests' in between dungeons.  But even then, they're better than the ones in Twilight Princess by far and you have a lot of fun activities to do in between to give yourself a break.

In short, I'm loving this game so far.  We'll see how the rest of it goes.

I'll buy it, I'm a Zelda whore.

I don't have a console or a TV to actually play it on though... so that could be interesting. But maybe when I go home.

I'm gunna leave you anyway.

could always try to play it on dolphin on your pc. it probably wont be nearly as good as playing on the actual console but at least you can render the game in 1080p (which I'm sure it looks amazing considering it's already good in 480p)
