I hope they do that as well. I think they ended the anime so that they could have the option of doing that if they wanted, so cross your fingers.

They didn't use rubber ? just guessing.

The ending was good, but I guess he doesn't have enough.

Anyone seen Onegai Teacher?

Does the lake in Ano Natsu look or sound familiar? Did the memory voice sound familiar?

Don't remember the lake, but the voice was definitely her's, I have no doubts about that.
I always said this is a long distance sequel.

Something I liked a lot in this anime is that the couple was couple-ish

not like in many (most) animes that when finally someone gets the fkin courage to confess after 25 episodes (and Im raging like hell) but NOOO, even after the confession they like blush like hell and go over the top for holding hands and kissing is out of the question. . .obviously couples dont kiss (is that what goes trough the creators minds?)

but lately some animes have been changing a little and they decided to please me. . .this one was one of them :)

good stuff
once again:

well deserved

I have to agree on that, there are a lot of changes in the romance genre here.

The main plus point in this is probably Remon senpai, she pushes all the buttons here, and advances the entire story.

yea when watching the episodes its the first thing that came to mind. i figured at some point they would make some sort of cameo considering the plot is similar and its from the same guy.

......... She looks SO freaking good without the glasses ... WHY THE HELL DID SHE NEED TO WEAR GLASSES?

(click to show/hide)

Also, I don't like the main character's glasses.

Still on episode 1, after the shower part. Oh the bruu-raayz.

I think this was the most disappointing anime that I've watched in this year so far. It had a lot of potential, but it degraded into a very poorly explained plot, and there wasn't much to the characters either, beyond them being in love with each other.

Art was quite nice, but otherwise, this series was very "eh".

For "eh" please refer to the master crafted anime in that area of expertise, an expression that made me loathe the series altogether, with the exception of the laboratory parts.
Reference material

As for your opinion:
1- What exactly did you expect?
2- What exactly did you mean by "unexplained alien drivel again."
It was stated quite early what this show was about so you clearly stepped onto a landmine fully aware it was there, it wasn't even covered or camouflaged.

I think my biggest problem with the show was not the premise, but that the characters weren't interesting enough and the way everything was carried out wasn't funny/interesting enough to begin with to compensate for the poorly explained plot. Had the characters been interesting enough instead of being cookie-cutter figures, I might have liked it better. Granted, I don't really watch many romance shows - although I'm open to recommendations - and this particular one might highlight the reason why - because for shows that are about personal interactions, I'd expect them to have something that actually makes me relate to the characters, or the portrayed feelings. Instead, during this show I felt like I'm being told "oh yeah, this person is in love with that person", but I didn't feel that. :u

As for the "poorly explained alien drivel", it is exactly what I mean by it -

I could probably ramble more about this, but I should put more effort into finishing my Master thesis instead of ranting about anime which seem to be generally well-received but which I didn't like. :u

You should watch Onegai Teacher right now, it will tell you quite a lot.
In most romance anime's you will not see many patterns being different than others, I have the feeling you are new to anime and not only to our board. I also get the feeling that you expect from anime far too much, authors of good anime shows leave a lot to viewers thinking, in Anime romances you need to put some thinking into work, and since 2002, never expect much from anime shows, since that's about when really good shows are scarce. Not saying there are none, as there are quite a few, but far less than back then.

Your first posts on this board are about how unimpressed you are with anime you posted in, that's not a good impression at all. I consider this show a good one for many reasons, and saying that the characters were not interesting and plot was not funny, you are wrong on both. This is a light comedy with highschoolers romance, a comedy isn't by default meant to be funny, a comedy in a show is simply putting a few small subtle jokes like when Gibbs slaps Dinozzo in NCIS.

Put your backbone on the shelve, leave pride in the boots and simply enjoy the show, otherwise you will not really be able to enjoy anything and you will waste a lot of time.

Music was nice too. I was listening to it and was like "I know this singer" ... turns out to be KOTOKO.

But couldn't agree with you more. As much as it needs an OVA, the whole series flopped like shit. Anohana was better than this. I'm so, so disappointed ...

OT is somewhere on my long to-watch list, downloaded it, probably won't get to checking it out until the end of the month.
I would rather say that I am new to trying to be more lenient towards what I choose to watch, because most of the time I'm too busy to bother with potentially lackluster series, but lately I think I might be missing out on the whole spectrum, even if much of it would make me facepalm (reasons below). :u
It's not even the issue of everything not being sparklyperfect with AnoNatsu, but rather that there wasn't anything that would really hold my interest. I am capable of enjoying a good cheesefest (coughMacrossFrontie rcough), or light-hearted comedy like K-On!, or high-school romance (KareKano), to name a few, it's just that AnoNatsu didn't seem committed or heartfelt about any aspects of it. Besides the pretty art.

Although I do agree that starting out with a negative post - blame my jerky qualities of not liking to necro threads and to fixate too much on figuring out why I didn't really like something - is probably not a wise thing to do, and that I should probably just check out more things, even if just for the heck of it, or to appreciate the good things more, when I'm not too distracted with studies/other hobbies. :u

I quite liked Anohana, which is the reason why I watched AnoNatsu.
AnoNatsu does have a gorgeous ED theme, though.

Generally if you will watch OT you will understand many aspects of the show, even though they are not directly related.

AnoHana was misunderstood by many people, but the fact remains, the ED song is amazing, but I loved the show altogether.

Havok, that post is basically saying that you shouldn't expect too much from anime, because it's not going to meet those expectations. I think that's completely the wrong attitude to take - if we expect crap, then we're only going to get crap. Excusing a crap anime just because it's anime is silly.

And while I wouldn't say AnoNatsu was downright crap, it certainly wasn't all that good. I agree with FenNiverdia that the characters were shallow, the story was poorly executed, and the alien drivel was just annoying. I too was very disappointed with it. While logically it's true not every anime is going to be as good as something like AnoHana, it's still very reasonable to be disappointed when it's not.

I'm a bit too drunk right now to be entirely sure where I'm going with this post, but basically - AnoNatsu was depressingly mediocre, and totally failed to live up to its potential. It could have been so much better than it was.
