I'm not gonna buy it since I already have all the games anyway, but I highly recommend anyone who hasn't played Introversion's games picks it up. Uplink is superb, and DEFCON is also very good (though it's a multiplayer game, and I've always had trouble finding people to play with - if anyone is up for a game, let me know). I wasn't such a fan of Darwinia tbh, but many people consider it to be a brilliant game, so it's worth a go too.

Just bought it for $8. 1 for humble, 2 for EFF, and 5 for developers.

Uh, what?

I have to say though, I can't think of any good reason why anyone would want to pirate the Humble Bundle. It's dirt cheap, amazing value, DRM free, and all the money goes to small independent devs who really need (and deserve) it, or to charity. What benefit do you get from pirating it?

Call me a sceptic but it seems to me someone found a way to make a profit off of humble bundle...
I occasionally take a look at the top contributors, and for a moment I thought there was a promotion of a new bundle, but apparently they are just collecting donations instead of simply supporting the bundle by directing their users to donate directly.

So there you have a third party handling your contribution and instead of just one transaction fee to paypal, you pay them twice, which is more money lost instead of going where it should....

To me, the Humble Brony Bundle looks legitimate at first glance.

However, I agree with you that you can't rule out the possibility that the guy who collects all the donations is pocketing a portion for himself. At the moment, we have no way of knowing whether that's true or not.

The Humble Bundle guys should seriously look into this and force the Brony Bundle to reveal his transaction history or w/e to make him accountable.

Since when did piracy need a reason?  To me it is the default option.  I apologise if I caused offence, but I was merely giving a heads up.

Well, they publish how much money goes to each developer/charity on their site, don't they? And if a developer wasn't getting the money they're supposed to, you can bet they'd make sure everyone heard about it. So I think the HIB is pretty trustworthy, it's too high profile and handles too much money for nobody to have found out if they're taking more money for themselves than they should be.

Why is piracy the default option?

I only said it was my default option.

Turn it around, why should paying for software be my default option?

Its purely arbitrary, because it is what I have been used to since I was, like, 12.

I think you may have misread, we're not talking about HIB, rather one of current top contributor calling themselves Humble Brony Bundle.

The only good game there is Uplink and I already own it.
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

What? Defcon is an amazing game. Yes, slow... but still amazing nonetheless.

Because nothing in life is truly free?  Everything costs somebody something... time, money, energy.  I have to admit, Steam cured me of any desire I had to pirate games.  If I want something bad enough, I either pay full price or wait until it drops to an acceptable price on Steam.  Now if I had the same option for music, I would consider mending my evil ways once and for all.
It took an hour to write; I figured it'd take an hour to read.

Because everything in life is permitted as long as you don't get caught?
