After the topic on keyboards, I started wondering what type of mice and keyboards you guys us.

For my mouse I use a Logitech G500 or M570. It depends which part of my hand hurts the most at the time (and if I'm playing a game that requires a real mouse). The G500 is, as far as I can tell, the perfect non-vertical mouse (I have problems with my wrist) and the best mouse I have ever actually used. The M570 is my way of preventing total wrist destruction.

For a keyboard I'm using a Das Keyboard S Pro. Its a mechanical keyboard with a nice feel and a modest tactile feed back. Wish I got the non-silent edition (Cherry MX Blue instead of Brown) since they have better feed back. Still it is a dream to type on. Its expensive, but its worth the money. I do kind of regret not getting a BlackWidow while they were cheap (I bought my Das from New Egg for $127.50, the BlackWidow was going for $60 at that time and has blue switches).

My keyboard is Logitech UltraX flat - I like laptop-style keyboards and this keyboard was one of the first of that style to be available to me.
My mouse is Logitech M-SBF90 (a cheap optical mouse with a PS/2 connector). My KVM switch only supports PS/2, so I cannot use mice that are USB-only (and KVM switches that support USB are really expensive, so, not worth it). And this mouse is good enough for me (I can play FPS games with it, but I am not a pro, also the mouse is nice and big), no point in paying more.

Mouse- Logitech G9x

Whether they are the best or not, they were free... and they kick ass.

Lol, nothing beats watching TV on my keyboard while I raid!

Keyboard: the one built into my macbook pro

Mouse: trackpad and/or Logitech Trackman Marble.

I will often use both at the same time, being somewhat ambidextrous I scroll using the trackpad and point with the trackball.

I can't really stand mouses, but that could be because I had pretty bad RSI from using them when I was 14.

I have multiple keyboards, but I still favour using my old Microsoft Office keyboard. That's the one with the huge weighted roller spindle on the left side and various buttons to switch tasks, cut, copy, paste, etcetera. I've typed on it so much that there are grooves on some of the keycaps because I touchtype from the homekey position which means my fingernails on several of my fingers are able to touch the keycaps. Those keys have grooves in them now. It's kinda scary how many keypresses it took to cause that.

HP generic ergonomics keyboard and Gigabyte mouse.
After 4 years of hard work this keyboard is feeling less sensitive around the ASD, will need something new soon.

Keyboard: Steelseries 6Gv2 with a Filco Leather Wristrest
Mouse: Logitech G700 with a Steelseries S&S Mousepad

I am very happy with both. The keyboard is mechanical with Cherry Black switches which might be a bit on the heavy side for certain tasks. The new keyboards with Cherry Red switches seems interesting (red is like black but with 20% less force needed) but I doubt I will make switch.

I guess performance is the main issue. But after that, the ability of the keyboard to withstand a coffee or soda spill might be worth thinking about. No liquids on mine, but the cat likes to lay the keyboard sometimes. Don't know why as it is not "warm" at all unless it is more comfortable to lie on the keys as if they were individual box-springs on a mattress.

The Microsoft Office Keyboard is also spill-resistant. The key switches are not sealed, but if the keyboard is on a level surface, you technically can pour coffee onto the keyboard until it overflows and runs off the keyboard. As long as you do not lift up the keyboard, the max level of coffee in the keywell will not reach up to the top of each key's opening into the interior of the keyboard where the switches are. So, just take paper towels and draw off the liquid, carefully dribble water onto the keyboard to rinse it, and draw that rinse water off with paper towels and you are done.

Like Ultra_Magnus I use the same mouse he does for my desktop (I'm on my 2nd one) ... Though my reasons are different, 1st is that moving a mouse around was causing wrist strain, 2nd I had cats, 3rd limited space.

Desktop keyboard is a Kensington Slim Type .. due to the fact I hated using Vent & hearing clack clack of keys going on in the background.

For my Lappy I have a Logitech 2 button mico-scrollwheel wireless mouse ... I dislike using the touch pad.

Some cheap generic keyboard and RAT7

I have wondered if I should force myself to go over to trackballs because I can see the potential of precision increase (at least in my case my fingers beat the shit out of my palm when it comes to precision, thus the reason why a "claw" the mouse with my fingers and use high sensitivity so I don't move my hand much)

Also wonder why nobody have built a gamepad with a marble ball on the right side instead of stick, would make consoles more suited for FPS and even RTS.

Das Keyboard (non-S), though I also have G80 MX clears (with my sister atm), and a Unicomp Spacesaver (being cleaned). I've tried the browns, still prefer the crisper tactility of the blues on the das, but the lower noise level would suit workplaces more (if co-workers don't mind the residual thock-thock).

As for mouse, the freescroll functionality stopped working on my MX Revolution, so I switched to a RAT 7. Neither mouse is perfect; I have quite a few complaints about both actually. But now that I've used them I no longer wish to switch to a mouse that doesn't have both thumb buttons and thumb wheel.

I will keep on using the Microsoft explorer type mice. That sloped mouse design eliminated carpal tunnel type stress in my wrist and lower forearm. That was what that design was for, but due to lawsuit potential, Microsoft cannot advertise the mouse as either reducing the chance or NOT reducing the chance. Evidently, even saying it has no effect makes someone sue-able in the mysterious world of medical lawsuits.

Keyboard: Noppoo Mini Choc with MX Reds and Topre Realforce 103UB
Mouse: Logitech G100, Zowie EC2, Razer Deathadder 3G, Razer Mamba 4G, and Minoix Naos 5000.

I only use the G100 and EC2 because I'm liking claw grip over palm at the moment. But I'm wanting to get another Deathadder because of it's flawless sensor and mine is in pretty shit condition (switches are horrible, scroll encoder has gone to shit, and rubber coating is gone in common places). The other two I never use and I'm probably going to sell them.

The Realforce obviously feels nicer to type on, but I type faster on the Noppoo mini due to the MX Reds. The tenkeyless layout let's me have my arms closer together rather than really far apart since I use a 17" mousepad.

I love the infrared sensor on DeathAdder. When this one dies I'm getting another one.

Das Keyboard sounds overpriced but good. Are the keys invidually wired?

I've gone through quite a few keyboards and mice. Well, to be more accurate, I've been using this mouse for quite a while now... but I've had plenty before it.

This is what I've settled on currently.
Keyboard: Sidewinder X4
Mouse: Logitech MX 518

The keyboard was on sale for 30 bucks, as I mentioned in my other topic. The mouse, I actually bought at B&H Audio/Video a long while ago; the price was better than the price at Newegg.

The MX518, I've been quite satisfied with. It's definitely a good mouse. The only thing that annoys me is the cord. This was obviously unavoidable, but I'm starting to dislike cords on mice quite a bit. Mainly an issue because it always feels like it puts in a little resistance into every action, and positioning the cord in a way such that it doesn't impede motion in the slightest is difficult. I also might need to replace the bottom pads some time, though; wearing off.

The keyboard, I'm still getting used to. The only thing I dislike is that the Intellitype software pretty much makes it so that the media keys are incompatible with Mediamonkey unless you do some silly, roundabout procedures. Other than that, it was a good buy.

Keyboard: Gateway KB-0401, came with the PC. And like the PC, it's around 7 years old, or at least old enough that it connects via PS/2. It has a few useful features like Cut/Copy/Paste/Calculator shortcut buttons, as well as some media player control keys that I've rarely used. The lettering on the left Shift and Control keys are partially or completely worn away, and unfortunately the adjustable supports on the back got broken off when the keyboard tray on my desk decided to collapse one time. But still, it's a rugged old piece of work that I'm quite used to.

Mouse: Wavetronix n2 O5 UP. I'm not exactly sure how I came into possession of this mouse, but it's Nebraska/Huskers-themed, so it must've been through school somehow. A pretty standard optical/laser mouse with scrollwheel+Back/Forward buttons on either side. I know people might expect that I'd have an oldschool trackball mouse, but I actually ditched the one that came with my former PC back in 2000, in favor of an Intellipont optical mouse that served me well for 7 years. I went through one wireless mouse and one other wired optical mouse after that, but both of those failed in short order. So I figured, "Why bother wasting money on another new POS mouse? I'll just use this one that's been sitting around."

That is pretty neat. It would be nice to take to the office I would imagine to avoid having to use the shit computers at work (and their shit spying on you).

Need new mouse, my 1 year old Gigabyte gaming's left click copper plate is busted and going through the other spare mouse that I have for a replacement all have inferior and insanely thin copper plate.

I, of course suggest the G500 for a gaming mouse and M570 for every day use (if you have wrist problems).
