recomendation for Blu ray burning software

I have a blu ray burner, but I've heard that the bundled software is mostly just good at making coasters. Any suggestions?

[edit] I'm just burning back ups. I don't care if its free or not (but under $50 is required), as long as I can set the burn speed to 1x, "burn" to ISO, and burn ISOs. I plan on making ISOs then using DVDisaster to put some extra ECC data on the disk so I can still read them 5 years from now (unlike my rotting DVD backups).

how much do you get your blank disks? just curious, it looks like a neat alternative to stacking HDDs.

About setting your speed to 1x, not a good idea.  In this area, slower is not better.  The dye's that are used to record data are designed to work best at a range of intensity and duration, (heat-work.)  To much or to long will result in burning areas near to intended target.  Recorders will have to attenuate the lazer to its minimum output to handle the slow speed putting the settings at the margin edge of it normal working range.  Let the device pick its optimal setting speed.

It came out to a $1/disk. The nice thing in my mind is its truly read only, and adding extra data level error correction data is easy.

It doesn't seem as if that program can make proper BD ISO files. It can burn them, but not make them. Still useful for burning I suppose.

by this I assume you haven't tested the bundled software and instead relied on other people's comments? I suggest you do a couple of test burns, taking note of the settings you've used as well as the media. While software causing the bad burns is not out of the question, it's less likely to happen. Coasters are more likely to be produced by bad media. Bluray also uses UDF 2.50.
