My brother offered the iPad 2 for my birthday (dec. 26) . . .anyways Im thinking of asking for the money instead (hes ok with it)

. . .my deal is. . .should I get it or should I wait to see if all those rumors are true. . .whats your input? cause from what I've read we're only talking about retina display as the big change

get the cash buy a not ipad 2 and buy something else cool

I would ask for the cash assuming its at least $500. Otherwise take the iPad 2.

I don't know if you've used an iPad, but its effectively nothing more than a giant smart phone. I personally have a Transformer Prime pre-ordered. I obviously think that's better (and conveniently $500). Otherwise I would wait for the iPad 3 if you really want iOS.

Cool title, although there is a discussion between Apple fanboys about uselessness of iPads. Yes, many Apple fanboys are of an opinion that "iPhone can do everything an iPad can, but is easier to put in your pocket. For everything else there are Apple notebooks which are more powerful and thus more useful"

and I have used iPads, my brother has one. . .TBH even if notebooks are more "powerful"
theres a thing about the ipad thats just. . .right

i know its a giant ipod touch (or a giant iphone) but. . .iono the appeal of the ipad is something else. . .its like an e-reader but with a lot more features
and dont go hating on apple for the price/hardware thing. . .cause TBH they make up for it with efficiency. . .my brother still uses his 10 yr old iBook G4. . .and still works fine, never had a virus or anything. . .before that he had 3 laptops in 2 years

so I should wait I guess. . .?

Do iPads even have the "E-ink" function like Kindle? How is an LCD with shiny glare screen and backlit LED when you read for several hours? I would say iPad are good (see no hating) for watching movies and shit, but is a major eye strain as an E-reader.

and guess what your brothers 10 yr old g4 isnt using an intel chip or any other chip that apple currently uses.
They stopped using them one of the many reasons apple stopped having any edge.
So your claim of ~~efficiency(wrong word)~~longevity doesnt make sense since the reason the old apples were great were the processors. iOS does get viruses now since the number of people using it has grown and the vast majority are fucktarded there are viruses now.
Again ill say nothing personal about the ipad just my opinion that your better off buying a kindle and another tablet with android then you get the best of both worlds. ebook with an actually nice screen and all the angry birds action you can handle on an android tablet. Because really who actually uses a tablet for something useful its always stupid shit and games. PS it also will do flash something apple refuses to support.

It seems GoGeTa had made his mind up before starting this thread. I was going to make a thread like that myself to convince my self to buy a tablet instead of a laptop.

GoGeTa, you want a iPad get an iPad. If you don't, you'll regret it.

Edit - I'd take the money and purchase PSP Vita. It's coming out in a month or so in US/UK. Then I'd purchase couple of games with the rest of the money. Why do you need an iPad if you have a computer/laptop? ...

from the rumors I've heard here are some:

- Retina display with alternative e-ink display (i still dont know how they would manage this tho). . .rumors tho
- A6 processor
- iOS something.something

so the big one is the display that AT LEAST will be retina display, obviously giving it the 1080p resolution. . .

I'ved used the iPad 2 and was not impressed. I'd wait for the iPad 3, especially if it will come with an e-ink display (fuck the retinal display).

Yeah, but for everything else it would be great. Tablets can be more than just really expensive toys. If the iPad 3 really did have an e-ink display I'd buy one.

just spreading the news. . .

when I see my friends iPad 2, I can see the pixels. . .on mine. . .I cant XD, pixels so god damn small you need a magnifying glass to see them
