Gaming and lots of photoshop, low MS response is preferred but secondary to good color rendition.

Well then you probably want a good quality profesonal model like this: http://shopping1.hp.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/WW-USSMBPublicStore-Site/en_US/-/USD/ViewProductDetail-Start?ProductUUID=f_oQ7EN5cvMAAAEyaxACBwph&CatalogCategoryID=yP4Q7EN5.w0AAAEu6fw.zwd2&JumpTo=OfferList
Although if good color is what you need then you can not go wrong with http://shopping1.hp.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/WW-USSMBPublicStore-Site/en_US/-/USD/ViewProductDetail-Start?ProductUUID=5WgQ7EN5kQkAAAEtd.lVIOI_&CatalogCategoryID=yP4Q7EN5.w0AAAEu6fw.zwd2&JumpTo=OfferList , but that is out side of your price range. ;D

why HP, just curious... theres like other brands as well you know.
pantywraith:
Because that is what I know the best. Others can be just as good, but I do not have enough experience with other brands that meet his requirements to recommend any. And other good ones have already been recommended.
The primary thing he should do is stay away from consumer grade junk.
