New Year's Resolutions for 2012
« on: December 28, 2011, 08:05:02 PM »
Although it's a couple of days early, and although making resolutions for the new year is cliche and overdone, I figured I'd be the one to ask:  what are your resolutions for 2012?  What do you plan to do differently?

Myself, I intend to stop being a slack-ass about repairs and upgrades around my house.  It bit me in the ass today, and now I'm scrambling to get a few things fixed that my homeowner's insurance company doesn't like.  Between being lazy and not very handy, I'm probably the last person who should own a home, but I figured I better take the lesson to heart and start getting stuff done around here.  As an incentive to myself, I won't spend any major sums of money on things not related to this goal next year (barring necessities & emergencies of course), and if I'm happy with my progress next year, then my self-reward will be a vacation/trip out of the country in 2013.  But no vacations or trips in 2012.
It took an hour to write; I figured it'd take an hour to read.

I guess I would say - to smoke less.
The rest will go as it goes.....I probably should get my life on track, like finding a job and finaly growing up, but I do not think that will be a good resolution for me :D

To eat healthier and do more exercise.

My resolution last year was to get out of KFC and I managed that one. :)

Rolling back onto the "success track". I met a new friend who is hard wired for this and has started to push me back on this track. To speed up my future "successes" at work etc.

TBH, not fully looking forward to it. I've been on this track before in my early post secondary days. I was a mean and evil motherfucker then. Cut throat and nasty, analytical and patronizing... hopefully I can get back on this track without turning into a monster from the carefree, lazy and "nice" me. Well, I'm still a dick to metro and a few others here and there currently, but I'd be far worse... <_<

I will also need to begin to increase my physical stamina to achieve this whether for the ability to drink to socialize, or late nights pulling off the extra work etc.

Who else has a resolution they don't want?

Oh, TL;DR

1. Stronger studying and work habits/ethic
2. Revised mentality for demanding a higher standard of work and crushing mediocrity (literally)
3. Increased physical improvement for my body to withstand the forthcoming trial by fire.

You have to buy those infomercial glasses then that allow you to see in real HD while outdoors.

I will start with last year's resoulutions :

- Get accepted into a university ( done ).
- Pass the first year with good/awesome GPA ( done ).
- Improve my English ( done In progress ... ).

This year's resolutions :

- Read more novels/books.
- Start exercising.
- Spend less money/time on games and more time on studying.

If I could do at least one of them ... I would be a happy man :D

Parts of it I admired greatly, parts I laughed at till my sides were almost sore;
other parts I read with absolute sorrow,  because I think them utterly false and grievously mischievous...

Hoping to stop smoking this week. Just started two months ago, and I won't have the money for smokes for the next week, so hopefully the week without them will get me to stop.
Also trying to spend less money. Even if I don't pay bills I end up blowing my entire paycheck in just a few days on nonsense that I don't need.

- Visit Brazil (I'm leaving March 2012 for 3 months ;D )
- Realise I'm not born lucky, so I should use my hard-earned money on stuff I really need, instead of loosing them or buying things I really don't need to fill up the gap of loneliness that comes from time to time. (The Brazil-trip is the first step towards this)
- Start education (I might have to push this to 2013)
- Get some real-life male friends.
- Work on making my life better - and to improve being social.
- Kitesurf more.
- Throw away everything (spiritually and physically) that make me sad and depressed.

Yeah, 2012 will be a good year!  :)

Drink less, maybe smoke less or quit altogether if the prior goes well.
Its funny. Ive always been able to hold my resolutions for good habits (like exercise, healthy eating, seeing my grandparents more often, save more, etc) but I always, always fuck up when I make a resolution to stop a bad habit.

and finaly growing up
Dont ever do this. A little saying I have (Im sure it doesnt make sense if you werent born in the 80s in the US, but) anytime someone tells me to grow up I respond "FRICK YOU! I am a Toys R Us kid." I dont wanna grow up, im a toys r us kid... aka; I am always going to have a childish side.

Oh, but cant hurt to get your life on track, just dont throw away those little enjoyable things.
