After that embarrassment i'm surprised Kyoto Animation dare show their faces ever again.

This might be interesting. The picture looks good, and Kyoto Animation have created some real masterpieces in the past.

Embarrassment? What embarrassment? It's true Nichijou wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad either - I wouldn't call it an embarrassment. And most of it's problems were inherent in the original manga, and weren't KyoAni's fault particularly.

I'm talking about Endless Eight brother, didn't know they were behind Nichijou though.

Ah, that. Not their finest hour, admittedly. It's true Endless Eight completely destroyed their reputation, but I'm fairly sure that was just a one off. They haven't done anything that bad before or since (and it was quite a while ago now), so fingers crossed they'll be able to return to their usual form with this one.

Animation looks nice. Plot seems promising. Hopefully doesn't out to be a mediocre story.

I really want to watch this, but I'm forced to choose between the lesser of two evils, it seems - Mazui's awkward translations or Commie's super liberal translations. Leaning toward Mazui, but... any recommendations?

Duly noted.

Between the two, I'd go with Mazui.

Nice watch.

I also chose Mazui, and it was a really nice first episode.

Mazui did a pretty good job; I certainly wouldn't call their translations awkward.

I also really enjoyed the episode itself, I'm looking forward to next weeks. I've never read the books, but fingers crossed this might just be KyoAni's long-awaited return to form - though it's too early to tell from just one episode. I live in hope, though.

I actually never consider comparing, If there is any other group doing something other than just Commie and GG, I wick em, sometimes edit for more edible translation but most of the time, anything is better than commie.

Imo best first episode of a series in a while. Although I can't say I know in which direction this is going lol. Definitely interesting nonetheless!

It probably won't be the top show of this season for me, but it's looking good (in both visuals and atmosphere) so far.
