Starting to show symptoms? Doesn't his helplessness in the face of Chitanda's "I'm curious!" stare count? If that didn't evoke feelings in him, would he be so helpless? I just don't think Chitanda is yet aware. And Oreki does avoid the subject desperately.

Yeah, he's pretty much onto her, Chitanda has her own game to work out.
Personally i think she's a good prey, cute, smart, and stacked.
