I know why he did it. It was just a surprise that he is so readily willing to expend energy like that. Does he even know how much energy he just laid on the line for them?

it was a great episode, and even though they did show him "realizing" his feelings, I wouldve still wanted some closure. . .

I wouldve ended it this way:

that las scene, with their feet close toghether, and then Oreki just says (with a very relaxed voice, after taking a deep breath):

"Chitanda, daisuki"

There is an OVA coming in 2013 so maybe just maybe....

I just now realized it was shown as only scheduled for 22 episodes

. Here's hoping for s2 or the ova to give us some thing. Not sure if any one here as read the novel and knows if it goes any further?

edit: I was curious!

So I went ahead and answered my own question. The novel has 5 volumes with volumes 4-5 having alot to do with Houtarou and Erus interactions/relationship. The anime ended within part of volume 4 and volume 5 contained a few short stories and then 1 long mystery. Supposedly the author is still working on it so I guess we could potentialy get some kind of closer or some thing. $:-\$

A good show. Started very slowly and I had my doubts about it at first, but as it went along, I started liking it more. A bit of a shame that neither relationship (Houtarou x Eru + Satoshi x Mayaka) were actually resolved, though. Then again, I don't think this show was really going for the romance subplot to begin with, so I may have been expecting too much from it.

according to that other Winter 2012/2013 it says that the Hyouka OVA is episode 11.5 (the pool episode)

so, we're not getting any new content

This anime was executed and directed so damn good. Not just the animation, but the characters feel vivid and life-like ... well, close to that. We're getting there, aren't we? Maybe in the next decade our jaws will drop with newer technology. Regardless, love the direction and animation. Story is looking good, too. On episode 4.

Yea this is turning out so much better than I thought. Detailed, VERY detailed. Man ... the direction and animation are just mind blowing. Put that together with P.A.Works stunning graphics ... On episode 10. Chii-chan is so cute.

Just finished reading the Doujinshi "Vanula Ice" now I want to watch this anime.

Although after reading that, It's going to feel weird looking at the cast with a straight face.
