Ahhh, it's so nice to be reminded why I'm such a huge Kyoani fan. They really are masters of animation - this show is really beautifully drawn, and brilliantly animated. Now all we need is for the story to pull through, and that's definitely looking good so far too. This is increasingly beginning to look like another masterpiece.
Also, theobject314, I think that's the first time I've ever heard anyone say GG are the best at anything 0_o. I haven't seen their work for this show, but I find it hard to believe, to be honest.
To be honest, most of the time gg subs are terrible, but for Hyouka only (and I repeat, Hyouka only-- their Jormungand subs are pretty terrible), but 8thsin is translating Hyouka for gg, and 8thsin is one of the best fansubbers around, in my opinion. Then again, gg sucks at getting things out on time, so...
Also, the subs might not even be that different. I compared gg's subs and Commie's subs for episode 1, and yeah, gg is much better, but only in terms of subtlety, specificity, and nuance. They're both very understandable (also, I'm fluent in Japanese, which is how I know).
