Well having no way of getting it in Asia, I don't see why would I even bother to consider HT Omega.

Rather than continue thinking inside the Box, consider applying the money to thingZ that increase your freedom, mobility, or utility.

If you don't already have a smartphone with cellular plan, the money could go towards that.

If you don't already have a laptop, it may be possible that you could use one at the college's library.  Or you may find yourself working in a group project and having access to your own materials on your own laptop is useful when you are working in a group.  If you do buy the laptop at a retail store, pay only CASH for it and don't sign anything with your name or identification that can trace to you.  Thus, you will have an anonymous laptop that is better suited towards living under laws required by the ACTA Treaty such as those within SOPA or whatever the new legislation will be named.

actually thinking about getting into pc gaming a bit more then what i usually do, such as BF3 and Dirt3. just wondering if my 5770 would be able to handle this. i know it wont be the greatest on BF2, but will it be playable and enjoyable? or should i upgrade to something like this http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102945

EDIT: im also using eyefinity with a high resolution of 5040x1050

IPS monitor. e-IPS panels are really cheap at the moment, and even if they are mostly 6-bit+FRC they are a big step up from run-of-the-mill TNs. It may be pricier than you are *used to* spending, but a good 24" 1080p IPS LCD will serve you better in the long run than just about any upgrade you can think of. Response times are much improved from 5 years ago as well; if you don’t buy into the 2ms GTG marketing BS advertised on TN panels, you’ll find 8ms works quite nicely for gaming.
