i thought it was a pretty good premiere of S3. the crystal ponies were cool. good to see twilight actually use her magic for once. i really thought she was gonna walk up all those stairs. most of the time, i'm all like 'come one, teleport! u do it all the time for fun, what about now?'

and Lunaaaaa, she was there too!

It kinda felt they were setting up for the finale. The vague inferences to some bigger problem ahead, Twilight moving forward in her apprenticeship, and the general attitude of "this shit just got real".

So, prediction -- in the finale, Twilight and company fight Cthulhu.

As for the show -- I don't think it was bad, or even quite "meh". The royal wedding finale was simply a pretty big high to end on -- and it's been so long we're kind of gotten tense. I would say it was weaker than season 2, but stronger than season 1.

new trixie ep was great, i watched it on livestream and then three more times when the HD came out on youtube. it was overall a really good episode. we got to see more trixie, but we also got fluttersy in a really adorable outfit (best part imo). twilight seems to have learned how to summon parasprites too... and how to make them disappear... useful if they ever swarm the town again i suppose. i still dont think zecora has any real magic, im sure the think she did to refill her cup was more a slight of hand kind of thing. i would think that with all the studying twilight does, she should have been more knowlegable on the alicorn amulet. im just happy all the speculation wasn't true about trixie being under the control of king sombra, i saw a lot of stuff about trixie finding that one little piece of his horn that got blown out of the explosion at the end of that ep.

I think zecora has magic of her own, from her native land. . .different types of magic. . .like FMA, the eastern magic, western magic, that other tattoo magic. . .

it was still very fun to watch- it could have used more fluttershy, but hay, she can't be in every ep i guess. rarity was looking nice in another new outfit... while sweetie did all the work. and then scoot got hooked upto the cart and i lol'd. not sure why scoot would be too afraid to get some wood for a fire, but then later run right into the forest in the middle of the night.

the ending was really good, but the livestream i was watching got cut out for a sec, so i re-watched it when the HD went up on YT.

oh, and i got some new pony system sounds. yay and squee and oh....my and a few others. plugging in my hdmi cable is a lot more fun now cuz yay.
