The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - Nintendo Wii - Nintendo EAD, Monolith Soft
Portal 2 - Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Windows, Mac OS X - Valve Corporation
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 - Bethesda Softworks
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception - Playstation 3    - Naughty Dog
Monster Hunter Portable 3rd - PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 3 - Capcom
Dark Souls - PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 - From Software
Minecraft - Java platform, Java applet, Android, iOS, Xbox 360 - Mojang
Batman Arkham City - PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 - Rocksteady Studios

Note that these are not in any order. They all get a GotY award.

Of those listed Portal 2 is a clear winner. Awesome game, everything else is... well actually console, so I wouldn't know much about it, except Skyrim which was a mediocrity.

All getting a GotY award is fine with me. Portal 2, Skyward Sword, and Skyrim all left the same effect with me grinning throughout the entire game with excitement. Skyward Sword turned out more epic than I expected.

I haven't played the other two, because I don't own anything PS.

Skyrim is great and all, i love it...but Dark Souls is the best game this year for me.

Is everyone forgetting that minecraft was only released this year? Otherwise my answer would be skyrim and skyward sword.

Uncharted 3 and Batman: Arkham City deserves a GOTY. Witcher 2 too. Portal 2 is good, but I don't feel strongly about its need for a GOTY.

I too enjoyed Dark Souls more than Skyrim.  Even though combat is at the core of both games, one handles it SO much better than the others.

Those of you wanting Dark Souls to get a GotY got your wish. Game Revolution participated for the first time this year, and gave it a GotY award.

The fun of modern publishing could have included Minecraft and Mass Effect 2, both "released" this past year.

Perhaps the old republic as well? Though hard to tell when it released late December, making it impossible to get goty.

Minecraft deserves GotY this year like Mass Effect 2 for the PS3 does.
